The proposed device performs the function of holding the telephone line ("HOLD"), which allows you to put the handset on the hook during a conversation and go to the parallel telephone.

The device does not overload the telephone line (TL) and does not interfere with it. During triggering, the caller hears a background music.

The diagram of the telephone line holding device is shown in the figure. The rectifier bridge on diodes VD1-VD4 provides the desired polarity of the power supply of the device, regardless of the polarity of its connection to the TL. The switch SF1 is connected to the lever of the telephone set (TA) and closes when the handset is picked up (ie, it blocks the SB1 button when the handset is on-hook). If during a conversation you need to switch to a parallel SLT, you must briefly press the SB1 button. In this case, relay K1 is activated (contacts K1.1 close, and contacts K1.2 open), a load equivalent is connected to the TL (circuit R1R2K1) and the TA from which the conversation was conducted is turned off. Now you can put the handset on the hook and go to parallel SLT.

The voltage drop on the load dummy is 17 V. When the tube is lifted on the parallel LT, the voltage in the TL drops to 10 V, relay K1 turns off and the load dummy is disconnected from the TL.

Transistor VT1 must have a transmission coefficient of at least 100, while the amplitude of the audio frequency AC voltage output in the TL reaches 40 mV. As a musical synthesizer (DD1), a UMC8 chip was used, in which two melodies and an alarm signal are "hardwired". Therefore, pin 6 ("melody selection") is connected to pin 5. In this case, the first melody is played once, and then the second one indefinitely.

As SF1, you can use an MP microswitch or a reed switch controlled by a magnet (the magnet must be glued to the TA lever). Button SB1 - KM1.1, LED HL1 - any of the AL307 series. Diodes VD1-VD4 - any that allow a reverse voltage of at least 200 V. Relay K1 - RES-47 (passport RF4.500.409, RF4.500.431 or RF4.500.432).

The device is hinged and does not require adjustment.

By using a resistor R1 with a resistance of 270 ... 390 Ohm, you can increase the voltage drop across the dummy load to 20 ... in this case, use a resistance of 25 ... 15 kOhm. The voltage drop across the resistor R20 must not exceed 3 V, otherwise it will be necessary to reduce the resistance of the resistor R3.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Textiles for powering embedded electronics 03.11.2014

Spanish scientists are working on a new type of technical textile that can power miniature electronic devices embedded in clothing.

Specialists from the AITEX association have previously developed sensors used to monitor heart rate, respiration and body temperature. These sensors were created based on Bluetooth wireless data transmission technology, but the researchers were not satisfied with the rather large dimensions of the devices and the short battery life.

Deciding to overcome such shortcomings, the researchers turned their attention to the possibility of using passive electronics that can be embedded in textile materials. This solution is ideal for sports and medical applications where user comfort and maintenance-free electronics are paramount.

AITEX specialists decided to go further and started developing a new type of textile, which operates on the principle of flexible antennas that can collect energy from radio frequency fields. The resulting energy will then be used to power Farsens RFID chips that power miniature electronic devices embedded in clothing. These can be, for example, sensors for monitoring heartbeat or temperature control.

It is worth noting that there have already been attempts to develop similar textile materials. But the new textiles are distinguished by their ability to capture radio frequency energy.
