Saudi Arabia became the first country to grant citizenship to a robot. Citizenship was given to the humanoid robot Sophia, created by Hanson Robotics from Hong Kong.
The venue for this unusual event was the Future Investment Initiative (FII) investor conference hosted by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
