Lacquer glaze for barrels (for the inside)

1st recipe:

100 g of shellac and 100 g of dammar are left to stand with 2 liters of ethyl alcohol in a well-closed container with frequent shaking in a warm place until most of the resins have dissolved. The resulting cloudy varnish liquid can be used unfiltered.

2st recipe:

Barrels must be completely dry, preferably with hot air. The lacquer is quickly applied to the inside of the barrel in the usual way, and when it has dried somewhat and becomes more sticky, it is set on fire. As soon as it lights up brightly, cover the barrel tightly with a lid and allow the barrel to cool completely.

3st recipe:

170 wt. hours of shellac, 170 wt. hours of dammar (well dried) and 375 wt. h. rosin coarsely crushed, doused with 2000 wt. hours of wine alcohol and dissolve it all in a sand bath with moderate heating. At the barrel intended for glazing, the lid is removed and varnish is applied with a brush. An hour later, varnish is applied a second time and immediately closed with a lid.

4st recipe:

For barrels that have already been glazed once, the following varnish is used:

250 wt. hours of rosin and 250 wt. including dammar dissolved in 750 wt. hours of wine alcohol and 275 wt. hours of turpentine in a sand bath. The glaze is applied only once, then it is set on fire and the barrel is closed with a lid; the old coating fuses with the new one into a solid mass.

Lacquer for beer barrels

Prepare two solutions:

1st solution:

  • Rosin 16 wt. hours;
  • Shellac 4 wt. hours;
  • Turpentine 2 wt. hours;
  • Beeswax 1 wt. hours;
  • Wine alcohol 64 wt. h.

2st solution:

  • Shellac 10 wt. hours;
  • Wine alcohol 10 wt. h.

The barrel is coated twice with the first solution, and after drying - with the second solution.

Model varnishes

1st recipe:

  • Copal (alcohol) 5 wt. hours;
  • Alcohol 95° 5 wt. h.

For elasticity, castor oil is added. 10 wt. hours of this lacquer triturated with 3 wt. hours of paint.

2st recipe:

  • Shellac 10 wt. hours;
  • Rosin 2,5 wt. hours;
  • Alcohol 95° 20 wt. h.

The resulting unfiltered solution is triturated with paint. For 10 wt. hours of varnish take 2-2,5 weight. hours of paint.

3st recipe:

  • Copal 13 wt. hours;
  • Shellac 3 wt. hours;
  • Camphor 0,5 wt. hours;
  • Alcohol 95° 30 wt. h.

To the solution is added 3,5 wt. hours of castor oil and triturated with the required amount of paint. Model varnishes used for varnishing models must have a gloss and good hiding power, and must also be well polished and sanded. Model paints are triturated with very finely ground paints. Lead white, red lead are not used. For whites, Lithopone usually goes. If the resulting varnish is too thick, it can be diluted with alcohol or shellac liquid solution.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New version of ASTRO 25 trunking system 27.03.2004

MOTOROLA announced the release of a new version of the ASTRO 25 trunking system, which complies with the APCO 25 standard and provides integrated voice and data transmission.

This system, which has already begun shipping, allows public safety services to implement the exchange of both voice and digital messages within the same wireless infrastructure. The new ASTRO 25 trunking system provides increased protection of communication channels, thanks to a wide range of network security tools and the ability to program encryption keys over system radio channels.

The ASTRO 25 system is part of a wide range of solutions offered by Motorola to law enforcement agencies. These are integrated means of communication, information processing systems, systems for managing the actions of employees at the scene of events and regional coordination systems.

Thanks to the extended capabilities of this system, law enforcement users will be able to implement new communication capabilities (packet data networks) at no extra cost, which will ultimately help improve radio coverage by communication systems of territories of both individual districts and cities, and the country as a whole.
