Very convenient for use in hiking conditions unusual soft bucket, apparently invented by truck drivers, because it is made from a car camera. The only way it is inferior to canvas is a slightly larger mass, but it is easier and faster to make it.

For this, a segment of any camera about one meter long is suitable. At both ends, using a tubular punch supported on a hemp, two through holes are punched, the distance between which should be approximately equal to the width of the palm. Now if we cut a longitudinal “window” from one hole to another with a knife, we get a kind of handle for an unusual bucket.

It is worth lowering the tire into the water and lifting it by the "handles" on both sides - the rubber cylinder will fold in half, forming a two-section container with water, which is convenient to carry at a fast pace and even running, since water never splashes from such a bucket.

Production of a soft bucket: 1 - a piece of an automobile camera; 2 - tubular punch; 3 - hammer; 4 - knife; 5 - finished two-section bucket

When using a soft bucket for water for drinking purposes, it is advisable to process the section of the chamber in order to beat off the natural taste of rubber, which is not very pleasant for smelling.

You can, along with washing in soapy solutions with repeated changes of water, add baking soda or table vinegar for a greater effect.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The aliens didn't find us 15.04.2007

According to calculations by astronomer Rasmus Björk of the Nips Bohr Institute in Copenhagen (Denmark), eight interstellar robotic probes flying at a speed of one tenth of the speed of light will take one hundred thousand years to search for intelligent life in 40 star systems.

If we study in this respect all 260 thousand stars located in that zone of the Galaxy where life is possible, then the survey will take almost 10 billion years. True, with the help of ground-based and near-Earth telescopes, it is possible to select in advance only those star systems in which the presence of planets suitable for life is possible.

But with such a time frame, it is likely that a civilization that sent probes to search for brothers in mind will simply lose interest in research begun by distant ancestors at least a hundred thousand years ago. Therefore, it is not surprising that other civilizations have not yet contacted us - just like we have with them, by the way.
