I was lucky in my youth - I got into the stream of student camping life.

On the wave of rapid development among teachers of mountain sports trips at our Kurgan Machine-Building Institute, groups of more accessible hiking-"flat" tourism were formed among students.

Within these new collectives, in which I found myself, their own pre-campaign social life began to seethe. Everyone found a job according to their interests and abilities. The leader planned the route. The supply manager made a list of products and calculated their cost. Fizorg conducted training and weekend hikes. The girls composed songs and decorated life. And I, a lover of tinkering, came up with designs: tents, windbreakers, backpacks and covers for camping equipment. I sewed them myself, and involved other members of the group in this work.

In those days (in the early 1980s), in addition to the tents of "pamirs" and "soldiers", there appeared frame tents "van" type. Such variants of tents for their increased internal volume and simplified installation method were especially appreciated by both fans of ordinary hikes and "climbers".

But it was not easy to buy such a camping tent in those days - they were very rarely on sale! On the other hand, it was not a big problem to purchase khaki-colored canvas for the bottom and even thin nylon material for the walls and roof. Therefore, the tents were sewn by ourselves.

"Van-1" was designed and sewn as a birthday present for a friend Nikolai. He was a single man and a great lover of nature. Almost all summer he lived in a tent: either in the apiary, or on the river, or on hikes in the Ural Mountains.

The "Van-2" variant is heavier than the first model, which is not very good: after all, in campaigns, as A.V. Suvorov said, even a needle has weight! But it is easier to make.

Main details: bottom, front wall, rear wall, roof with sidewalls and tubular arches (elements) of the frame.

The material of the tents is a thin nylon on the walls and a dense waterproof tarpaulin on the bottom.

Production procedure:

cut out all the details;
sew the bottom;
sew a lock into the front wall;
sew the window mesh into the back wall;
sew the bottom to the side walls, and the side walls to the roof;
sew the front and back wall to the side walls and the roof, inserting loops for the frame tubes and for the guy cords into the seam.

Camping pegs can be replaced with pebbles.

Light weight, ease of installation and a polyethylene cape created a relative comfort of camping life.

The area of the bottom with dimensions of 1200x2000 mm is designed for a spacious existence alone or for the cozy crampedness of two people.

The vestibule for things and shoes in this case was located under a polyethylene cape.

Having an initial drawing - everyone can adjust the dimensions for their height and shoulder width.

The cost-effectiveness of the design is guaranteed by the fact that it came from poor student years, and the practicality has been tested by still nomadic gypsies.

After graduating from the institute, young specialists took tourism, as a kind of sport and recreation, to different cities of the USSR.

Today there are no problems with materials, accessories and sewing machines. Therefore, I advise people with skillful hands to sew their own homemade tent - for themselves. There will be a reason to be proud of her in front of friends and remember her all her life.

Samsung eUFS 3.1 512GB Fast Flash Memory 21.03.2020

Samsung Electronics announced the start of mass production of high-speed 3.1 GB eUFS (embedded Universal Flash Storage) 512 flash memory modules for the next generation of flagship smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

The new eUFS 3.1 flash memory is three times faster than the previous generation, made in accordance with the eUFS 3.0 standard. More specifically, the new modules provide peak sequential write speeds of 1200 MB/s versus 410 MB/s for eUFS 3.0 models. That's more than twice as fast as a PC with a SATA drive (540MB/s) and ten times faster than a UHS-I microSD card (90MB/s).
