Judging by the works submitted to the competition by cyclists, today they are solving two main technical problems: creating a spacious trunk with a bag or duffel bag and tire puncture protection. The latter is especially important for bicycles equipped with “tube” tubes that do not have a separate tire.

At the rally, two methods of increasing the durability of such tires were demonstrated. The first is gluing another tire from the used ones onto the tube. Another, somewhat unexpected solution was proposed by S. Zharov from Moldova. He ripped open the tube along the entire length of its inner circumference, placed inside a thick hole made of microporous rubber, the kind used on construction sites to seal the joints of panels, and sewed the edges together.

Here is such a tube - it cushions and is not afraid of punctures.
