Frying. Legends, myths, history

Bathing suit (frying)
Trollius europaeus

The flowers are so hot that it's scary to touch them with your hands, For the midday heat they are popularly called fryers Zharki - the flowers of Siberia and the Altai Mountains. They, like hot coals, flicker in the dark green grass. The meadow, overgrown with flowering frying, is like an orange sea.

In forest glades, in meadows and in bushes, frying flowers bloom from May to August.

We know many legends about how mermaids lured boys and girls into the water and did not let them go ashore. However, the legend about the frying baths tells a different story. A slender young shepherd Alexei often drove herds of horses to a watering place at Lake Baikal. With acceleration, the horses flew into the bright waters of the lake, raising fountains of spray, but Alexei was the most restless of all. He dived and swam so joyfully and laughed so contagiously that he frightened all the mermaids.

Mermaids began to come up with various tricks to lure Alexei. They would go out onto the foggy lawn and dance as lightly as only fog can dance from the breath of the wind. Then they sat down on the green shore and sang songs, shaking their graceful heads in time with the singing. They swam on the moonlit lake as gracefully as only the most dexterous swimmers can swim, but not one of the mermaids received the attention of a young shepherd.

Sighing dejectedly, most of the mermaids sank to the bottom of the lake, and only their sighs are gone and will remind people of the futility of mermaid attempts.

But one mermaid fell in love with Alexei so much that she did not want to part with him. She began to get out of the water and quietly pursue the shepherd. Her hair was sun-bleached and turned golden. The cold gaze lit up. However, Alex did not notice anything.

True, sometimes he, perplexed, looked back at the rustle of a bush or was surprised at the unusual outlines of the fog, similar to a girl stretching out her hands to him. But even then he only laughed and so accelerated the horse that the mermaid jumped aside, trembling with fear.

The last time she sat not far from Alexei at the night fire, trying to attract attention with a whisper, a sad song and a pale smile, but when Alexei got up to approach her, the mermaid melted in the morning rays, turning into a bathing suit flower, which Siberians affectionately call frying. And they correctly call the hot flame of love capable of igniting even a mermaid's soul.

Bathing suit (frying)

There is another legend, according to which the yellow scattering of frying pans is nothing more than sprouted gold coins of a greedy merchant, scattered in despair by his daughter when her father refused to marry her to a poor fisherman.

This flower has long been loved by man. In the gardens, many terry and large-flowered species were brought out of the bathhouse. It is called a bathing place because during its flowering the water in the rivers warms up so much that you can swim.

The lanterns of the bathing suit bloom in the ninth year, and therefore, they expect a very careful attitude from us.

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>
