Buzulnik. Botanical description of the plant, areas of growth and ecology, economic importance, applications

Buzulnik

Buzulnik, or ligularia, is a genus of perennial herbaceous plants that belong to the Asteraceae family. And their appearance is very diverse - depending on the species, and there are up to 150 of them, the buzulnik can form low and very lush bushes or throw arrows of inflorescences as high as human height. In the garden, this plant invariably attracts the eye with elegance and monumentality.

Bouzulniki prefer damp places, so they are ideal for planting along the coastline. If there is no reservoir on your site, then it is better to choose a place in partial shade.

Do not plant buzulniks in blown areas.

Since the buzulnik looks not only decorative, but also majestic, it can be used as a tapeworm, planted in the center of the composition or amaze the guests with massive thickets in the semi-shady corners of the garden. As they say, we start from the tasks set in the given conditions.

There is also a legend about the buzulnik. They say that the arrows of the buzulniks are nothing but the rays of the sun, trying to illuminate the forest thicket, in which a lovely maiden was hiding - the spirit of a clear and sonorous stream. The maiden was fond of eternal twilight, mysterious depths and the shadow of trees. And the Sun is an amorous and passionate nature, not finding an object of desire under the canopy of the forest, she did not cry and left to look for another. Buzulniki, however, remained by the stream and draw their bright yellow candles, reflecting the sun.

Buzulniki are not only decorative and unpretentious, but also useful!

The plant is actively used in medicine. For example, tea with buzulnik relieves anxiety and heaviness in the soul. Because of this useful property, the people called him "sad". The leaves and stems of the plant can also be eaten. But we haven't tried it, so we can't comment on the taste.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Portable devices harm the development of speech 15.05.2017

Dr. Catherine Birken of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Julia Ma of the University of Toronto conducted a study on the impact of portable devices - smartphones, tablets, electronic games and more - on children from 6 to 24 months. According to the results of the work, these children may have a higher risk of delayed expressive speech.

The study involved 894 children aged 6 months to 2 years. Over 18 months, according to parental data, 20 percent of children used handheld devices daily, averaging 28 minutes. Based on readings from the Speech Delay Tool, the researchers found that the more time a child spent on the gadget, the more likely the child was to have speech delays.

For every additional 30 minutes that a portable device was on, the risk of delay increased by 49 percent. However, there was no obvious association between screen time and delays in social interactions, development of gestures and body language, etc.

“Handheld devices are ubiquitous these days,” said Dr. Birken. “While the new pediatric guidelines suggest limiting screen time for infants and toddlers, we believe smartphone and tablet use with young children has become fairly common. This is the first study , reporting an association between handheld device time and an increased risk of delaying the development of expressive speech"

More research is needed to understand the type and content of screen activities that children engage in, to further explore the mechanisms underlying the apparent association between screen time and speech delays, such as time spent with parents on handheld devices, and to understand how it influences the deep and long-term outcomes of early childhood communication development.
