Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. This instruction was developed on the basis of GOST 12.3.002-75 (SSBT. Production processes. General safety requirements) GOST 12.1.007-81 (harmful substances, classification and general requirements) and contains requirements that ensure the safety of work, and also sets out the rules for the behavior of the worker in the workshop and on the territory of the plant, introduces certain provisions of labor protection legislation.

1.2. Individuals who are at least 18 years of age and who have passed a medical examination, training, instructions on labor protection and have passed an exam with the assignment of a qualification category are allowed to work independently as a photographer.

1.3. Follow the instructions for labor protection - this will protect yourself and others from an accident.

1.4. Do only the work that is assigned to you by your boss and on the condition that you know the safe ways to do it.

1.5. Work only in serviceable, neatly tucked overalls and protective devices provided for by the Model Industry Standards for this profession: cotton gown 1 pc. per year, rubber surgical gloves 24 pairs per year.

1.6. On the territory of the plant and in the workshops, follow the rules of the internal labor schedule, observe the regime of work and rest:

  • walk on sidewalks and paths specially designed for pedestrian traffic, and where there are none, on the carriageway, keeping to the left;
  • be attentive to the signals of moving vehicles and do not run across the path in front of it;
  • do not walk on railroad tracks;
  • use only the established passages, do not climb over conveyors, conveyors;
  • if people work at a height, pass this place at a safe distance, as any object may fall from a height;
  • do not stand or walk under a lifted load or in its immediate vicinity;
  • do not look at electric welding with unprotected eyes, remember that pain in the eyes may not appear immediately, but after a few hours;
  • do not attempt to repair wiring or electrical equipment, call an electrician for this purpose.

1.7. Dangerous and harmful production factors are:

  • electricity;
  • hydroquinone;
  • metol.

1.8. The most dangerous are hydroquinone and metol, which are part of the developer. Getting on the skin, the developer causes irritation, turning into dermatitis, eczema with severe itching.

1.9. About every accident with you or with your comrade, immediately notify the chief and contact the health center.

1.10. Do not follow the order of the boss, if it contradicts the rules of labor protection and can lead to an accident, inform the foreman or the head of the workshop about this.

1.11. Be careful when working with solutions, follow the rules of personal hygiene:

  • do not eat or store protective clothing in the workplace;
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before eating.

1.12. Smoking and open flames are prohibited in the laboratory.

1.13. The requirements of this manual are mandatory. For failure to comply with the requirements of this instruction, you are responsible in accordance with the internal labor regulations and labor legislation.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Wear the prescribed clothing.

2.2. Check that the personal protective equipment is in good condition.

2.3. Prepare the workplace, remove objects and materials that interfere with work. Arrange equipment and tools so that their handling does not cause unnecessary fussiness.

2.4. Check the serviceability of ventilation, tools, devices, photographic and lighting equipment: electrical wiring, knife switches, switches.

2.5. Before working with the developer, protect your hands with rubber gloves.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. Work in the photo lab only with the ventilation turned on.

3.2. The photo lab should not be cluttered.

3.3. Do not work without overalls. Use protective equipment: gowns, rubber gloves, goggles that protect against the effects of chemicals on the body.

3.4. Remove the photoplates from the developer with special tools (tweezers).

3.5. Keep overalls in good condition, do not allow the ends of the clothes to flutter, remove the hair under the headgear.

3.6. When taking photographs, when moving electrical equipment, be careful not to snag on the cord. Move electrical wiring out of the way. Watch the stability of the spotlights of the cameras.

3.7. Be careful when working, do not scatter cassettes, lenses, multipliers and materials.

3.8. When working with chemicals to protect the skin of your hands, use pastes or rubber gloves.

3.9. In case of damage to the mucous membrane of the eyes, be sure to rinse them with water and consult a doctor.

3.10. It is forbidden to recognize reagents by smell, taste, and rub the crystals on the hand.

3.11. Chemicals with defective containers, without a label, or in case of damage to the original packaging, send for determination to the research laboratory.

3.12. Strictly adhere to the recipe when preparing solutions, after working with them, rinse well, dry the dishes and wash your hands thoroughly.

3.13. Do not touch your face with your hands after the end of the laboratory work. Wash your hands thoroughly (under the nails) before eating.

3.14. In case of chemical poisoning, contact the first-aid post and inform the master.

3.15. When using lighting and other electrical appliances, make sure they are in good working order.

3.18. Avoid the possibility of fire. Do not place the switched on electrical appliance on flammable objects, as well as near curtains, curtains, drapes and wooden partitions.

3.19. Storage of film at the workplace is allowed only in metal boxes in an amount not exceeding the replacement requirement.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of a fire, turn off the equipment, inform the foreman, call _______. Take measures to extinguish the fire. Remember that electrical equipment must be extinguished with carbon dioxide, powder fire extinguishers, as well as sand.

4.2. Electric current is especially dangerous in damp rooms, and also if clothes or hands are wet.

4.3. In the event of an electrical injury, quickly turn off the breaker to free the victim from the effects of current.

4.4. In the event of an accident, first release the victim from the traumatic factor and provide first aid.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off all installations, ventilation, appliances, wipe them.

5.2. Tidy up your workspace

5.3. Observe the rules of personal hygiene (both after work and during a break before eating).

5.4. Wash your hands after work with warm water and soap, or other prescribed detergents.

5.5. It is forbidden to wash hands in oil, emulsion, kerosene and other flammable liquids.

5.6. Clean overalls in the place designated for this purpose and store them in a closet.

5.7. Store personal clothes in a closet. It is prohibited to keep it in the workplace.
