I. General Provisions

The head of the department for commercial work belongs to the category of managers, is hired and dismissed from work by order of the director of the enterprise.
A person with a higher education in economics or engineering and economics and at least 5 years of experience in managerial positions in road transport is appointed to the position of head of the commercial work department.
The head of the commercial department reports to _______.
In his activities, the head of the commercial work department is guided by:

regulatory documents on the work performed;
methodological materials related to relevant issues;

The head of the commercial work department should know:

regulatory legal acts, other guiding, methodological and regulatory materials of higher authorities that determine the directions for the development of road transport and the financial and economic activities of the enterprise;
profile, specialization, features of the structure of the enterprise;
prospects for the technical and financial-economic situation of the enterprise;
production capacity of the enterprise;
rules for road transport of goods (passengers);
organization of financial work at the enterprise;
basics of drawing up a business plan, marketing, leasing;
the procedure for concluding and executing economic and financial contracts;
economics of road transport, organization of the transportation process;
the procedure for developing and approving plans for the production, economic and financial and economic activities of the enterprise;
market methods of managing and financial management of the enterprise;
the procedure for keeping records and compiling reports on the economic and financial activities of the enterprise;
economics, organization of production, labor and management;
rules and regulations of labor protection and fire safety.

During the absence of the head of the department for commercial work, his duties are performed in the prescribed manner by the appointed deputy, who is fully responsible for their proper performance.

II. Official duties

The head of the commercial department is responsible for:

Manage the timely conclusion of transportation contracts with the clientele and ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
Participate in determining the need for rolling stock and preparing proposals for its distribution.
Ensure timely preparation of estimates, financial and other calculations and reporting.
Monitor compliance with discipline in the performance of contractual obligations, timeliness of settlements under contracts.
Manage a comprehensive study of existing and prospective demand for transport and other services through marketing activities.
Develop measures aimed at expanding direct and long-term economic ties, areas of activity, types of services, improving work with clients.
Participate in the development of a business plan, measures for the rational use of rolling stock, improving the technical and operational performance of its work, strengthening financial discipline.
Responsible for the organization of labor protection in the department.

III. Rights

The head of the commercial department has the right to:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the enterprise management regarding the activities of the department.
Submit proposals to improve the activities of the enterprise and the commercial department for consideration by the management.
Sign and endorse documents within their competence.
To interact with the heads of all structural divisions of the enterprise, to receive information and documents necessary for the performance of official duties.
Submit to the director of the enterprise submissions on the appointment, transfer, dismissal of employees of the department, proposals for their encouragement or the imposition of penalties on them.
Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of their duties and rights.

IV. A responsibility

The head of the commercial department is responsible for:

For failure to perform (improper performance) of their official duties provided for by this Job Description, within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has announced a project to develop a computing system that can remain technologically relevant for at least 100 years without software updates, ZDNet reports.

The project, called Building Resources Adaptive Software Systems (BRASS), will take four years. Participants will spend time defining the hardware, software, and data requirements needed to ensure a long system life cycle.

As part of the project, DARPA plans to make a breakthrough in the design and implementation methods of software systems endowed with the ability to dynamically adapt to changes in the resources on which they depend and the environments in which they operate.
