I. General Provisions

  1. The laboratory assistant is appointed (and dismissed) to the position by the director of the school from among persons with secondary vocational education, special training according to the established program and work experience in the profile of at least 2 years.
  2. A person who does not have special training or the necessary work experience, but who has sufficient practical experience and performs the assigned duties in a quality and full manner, as an exception, may be appointed to the position of a laboratory assistant.
  3. The laboratory assistant reports directly to the teacher, who acts as the head of the office and the deputy director of the school for academic work.
  4. In his work, the laboratory assistant is guided by:
  • resolutions, orders, orders, other governing and regulatory documents of higher authorities and the school, relating to the subject of the work of the cabinet;
  • relevant standards and specifications;
  • rules for the operation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation;
  • rules for the operation of computer technology;
  • rules and regulations of labor protection, safety, industrial sanitation and fire protection, as well as the charter and rules of the internal labor regulations of the school and this instruction.

II. Official duties

The laboratory assistant performs the following duties:

  1. Monitors the good condition of the equipment, carries out its adjustment;
  2. Prepares equipment for conducting lessons, elective courses, classes using software and methodological complexes, checks it and makes simple adjustments;
  3. Carries out, in accordance with the instructions of the teacher, the head of the office and the schedule of classes, the necessary preparatory and auxiliary operations during practical and demonstration work;
  4. Provides students with the necessary equipment, materials, etc. for their practical work;
  5. Performs various computational and graphic works related to the classes;
  6. Reproduces didactic materials at the direction of the teacher, head of the classroom;
  7. Puts the equipment in proper order after carrying out practical, demonstration work; if necessary, washes and cleans the equipment in compliance with the relevant instructions for its operation;
  8. Strictly observes the rules of safety and labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire safety;
  9. Takes care of expanding the material base of the serviced office (s), draws up requests for equipment on behalf of the head of the office.

III. Rights

The laboratory assistant has the right:

  1. Prohibit the use of faulty equipment (instruments, tools, technical training aids, etc.).
  2. Immediately stop obvious violations by students of the rules of safety, labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire safety when using equipment and materials assigned to the serviced office.

IV. A responsibility

The laboratory assistant is responsible for:

  1. For failure to perform or improper performance without good reason of the charter and internal labor regulations of the school, the legal orders of the administration and teaching staff of the school, as well as the official duties established by this instruction, including for non-use of the rights granted, the laboratory assistant shall be subject to disciplinary liability in the manner prescribed by labor legislation .
  2. For the guilty infliction of damage to the school or participants in the educational process in connection with the performance (non-performance) of their official duties, the laboratory assistant shall be liable in the manner and within the limits established by labor and (or) civil legislation.

V. Relationships. Relations by position

Laboratory assistant:

  1. Works in irregular working hours according to a schedule based on a 40-hour work week and approved by the school principal;
  2. During the vacation period, which does not coincide with vacation, performs (taking into account qualifications) economic and design work by order of the head of the office or the deputy director of the school for academic work;
  3. Is instructed in safety, labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire safety under the guidance of the head of the relevant office or the deputy director of the school for educational work;
  4. Works closely with teachers of relevant subjects.

The military and law enforcement officers have a very hard time in the summer. On duty, they wear bulletproof vests, which in hot weather become natural instruments of torture. Yes, body armor can protect against a bullet, but in the summer it is actually a sauna that a person wears on his own body. The engineers of the Swiss company Empa tried to solve the problem; it specializes in innovative materials.

Swiss specialists have developed a bulletproof vest with a built-in cooling system based on the Coolpad technology. Water-filled pillows are built into the protective wardrobe item, the liquid evaporates through the membranes, lowering the wearer's body temperature. And under the pillows are small fans that enhance the effect.

As reported, in the process of work, scientists encountered a number of obstacles. So, the fans selected by the developers turned out to be too large to be integrated into body armor. In addition, the water in the pillows not only evaporated, but also leaked from the impact of the outer armor layer. That's why Empa has developed its own fan design, as well as a technology whereby tanks are "welded" to armored plates using a laser beam.
