If you want to have efficient heating and cleanliness in your house and other premises, an electric boiler operating from a three-phase 380 V network will help you out, either independently or in conjunction with a solid or liquid fuel boiler.

The boiler is a steel tank welded from a piece of metal pipe. Water heating is carried out with the help of tubular electric heaters (TEHs) with a total capacity of 6 kW. The author used it as an auxiliary for joint work with a solid fuel boiler, and then with a liquid fuel boiler. This greatly improves the efficiency of home heating.

Observations show that for a house in Ukraine with an area of up to 50 m2, a boiler power of 6 kW is enough. An area of about 80 m2 will require about 10-12 kW. In this case, you can use two of the proposed electric boilers in parallel or make one of greater power.

The electric boiler can operate in manual and automatic mode. The use of simple automation allows you to maintain a predetermined temperature in the room (for example, within 18-20 ° C) and significantly save energy.

To operate the boiler in manual mode, turn off the toggle switch T. Then press the "Start" button (P). If at this time the air in the room is colder than the upper adjustable limit (that is, contacts 1-3 of the TP temperature relay are closed), the magnetic starter will work, which will turn on the heating elements and block the "Start" button with its auxiliary contacts. Water is being heated. When the set temperature is reached in the room, the contacts of the TP relay switch, which opens the power supply circuit of the magnetic starter. The electric boiler is turned off. It can only be restarted with the "Start" button.

To operate the boiler in automatic mode, turn on the T switch. In this case, the air temperature in the room will be maintained within the limits of the TP relay contact. When the air is cooled to a predetermined adjustable limit by contacts 1 - З TP, the electric boiler is switched on. When the required temperature is reached, the TP relay contacts switch, the P relay is activated, which breaks the power supply circuit of the magnetic starter. The boiler is switched off. Then the cycles are repeated.

The electric boiler is connected to the heating system by outlets; when working with another boiler, place it nearby.

The electrical part is mounted in the electrical panel. It contains an automatic machine, a magnetic starter, a relay and control buttons. The arrangement of parts is arbitrary. It depends on the dimensions of the cabinet and the available parts. Installation must be carried out by an experienced electrician in accordance with the current "Electrical Installation Rules". Pay special attention to the quality of the grounding device - its reliability and general condition should be checked by measurements at least once a year, and also after each major overhaul. Measurements should be carried out by a specialized organization with the issuance of a measurement protocol.

Install the TR-OM5-OE room temperature sensor-relay cylinder on the wall of the room that best characterizes the thermal regime of the house. Adjust the sensor-relay to the desired room temperature. In the absence of the proposed temperature sensor, others can be used, but in this case it may be necessary to change the electrical circuit.

The reliability and safety of the electric boiler has been tested for 10 years. However, if installed incorrectly, as well as in case of violation of the operating rules, it can pose an increased danger. To avoid this, the following rules must be followed:

1. It is impossible to install shutoff valves before and after the electric boiler.

2. The bodies of the electric boiler and electrical panel must be reliably grounded.

3. Dielectric mats should be placed on the floor in front of the electric boiler and the electrical panel.

4. Before putting the boiler into operation, it is necessary to present it to the inspector of the State Energy Supervision Authority to obtain a permit for operation.

5. Electric boiler repairs can only be carried out by an experienced electrician.

Otherwise, the electric boiler cannot be operated.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Replacing silicon to reduce transistor size 06.12.2020

Silicon has been the dominant microchip material for decades, but its dominance may be ending. MIT researchers have found that an indium gallium arsenide alloy could be the basis for making smaller, more energy efficient transistors.

Transistors are the building blocks of computers. They act as switches, either interrupting the electric current, or allowing it to continue, and thereby ensure the operation of computers. However, in order for the growth of computer power not to stop, more compact transistors are needed. Today, semiconductor manufacturing is based on silicon, but there are alternatives. For example, indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs).

This material has excellent electron transport properties. InGaAs transistors can process signals quickly and operate at relatively low voltage, which means they can really improve the performance of computers. But there is one catch, writes MIT News. On a small scale, the famous electron transport of this compound is degraded. This problem has led some researchers to declare InGaAs an unsuitable material for transistor production.

However, the MIT scientists found that indium gallium arsenide's performance problems are due in part to oxide trapping, which makes it harder for electrons to pass through transistors.

After studying their frequency dependence - the speed at which electrical pulses travel through a transistor - they noticed that the performance of InGaAs drops at low frequencies. But at a frequency of 1 GHz or more, the connection works perfectly - no worse than silicon.

Scientists are confident that this problem can be solved or reduced to nothing, and they also hope that their discovery will spur new research on indium gallium arsenide.

Carbon nanotubes could be another alternative to silicon in field-effect transistors, but so far they have been produced in small quantities in laboratories. Specialists from the United States proposed a technology for creating CNFET on an industrial scale.
