What Caucasian people partly consists of blacks?

Abkhazia has a small black population. Negroes settled in these places around the 17th century, and how exactly this happened is still unclear. Already in the 19th century, they all spoke Abkhazian and considered themselves real Abkhazians. Today this group is assimilated and heavily mixed with the native Abkhazians.

Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia:

What style is played by a band whose vocalist is a parrot?

The only band in the world whose vocalist is a bird - a parrot named Waldo, plays in the style of death metal and is called Hatebeak. To date, the group has released three albums, but the project exists only in the studio and does not give concerts. Hatebeak's second album was recorded with the deathgrind band Caninus, which featured two pit bull terriers as soloists.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Processor based on superconductors 06.01.2021

Researchers at Yokohama National University in Japan have developed a prototype microprocessor using superconducting components that are about 80 times more energy efficient than the current semiconductor devices traditionally used in today's microprocessors. The development could help reduce the consumption of data centers and network infrastructure, which will soon require up to half of human energy.

It is believed that today telecommunications and data centers consume about 10% of the electricity generated by mankind. If nothing is changed in chip production technologies, then in ten years, according to experts, the information and telecommunications industry will consume up to half of all generated energy (and someone fears that electric vehicles will become a problem for power engineers). The trouble is that the operation of a modern electronic base is still accompanied by huge losses due to the generated heat, leaks and careless programmers.

Japanese developers decided to deal with the problem at the root. Since modern processors and architectures are inefficient, then you need to start all over again and even abandon the transistor. Scientists from Japan propose to replace this element with an element invented in this country about 70 years ago - this is a parametron that switches from state 0 to state 1 due to a change in the phase of the internal frequency, which it itself supports. In the fifties of the last century in Japan, parametrons came to replace the vacuum tube in the computer, until the world was conquered by simpler and more reliable semiconductor transistors.

Unlike a transistor, a parametron is not afraid of ultra-low temperatures, because it works on other principles. At NEC, for example, quantum computers are created on parametrons. At the same time, scientists from the Yokohama National University used the parametron as a basic element for the usual classical or almost classical computing architecture. The first experimental product of scientists was a 4-bit microprocessor, which proved its ability to execute commands and store data.

The new digital structure is named Adiabatic Quantum Flow Parameter (AQFP) and the processor is named MANA (Monolithic Adiabatic iNtegration Architecture). This microprocessor operates when cooled to a temperature of 4,2K or -269 °C. According to scientists, even taking into account the cost of cooling, this microprocessor shows an 80-fold superiority in the efficiency of calculations over modern semiconductor circuits.
