Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Android 5.0 Jelly Bean for Asus 08.03.2012

As you know, Android OS updates come out quite often, but some manufacturers supply their devices with a new version of the OS promptly, while others take too long to do this. ASUS belongs to the first category. Suffice it to recall the hybrid Eee Pad Transformer, which was updated at an enviable rate and was always among the first to receive new versions of Android Honeycomb, as well as Transformer Prime, which was the first to receive Android 4.0 ICS.

Now the company has set a new bar for itself: the first to update its solutions to Android 5.0 Jelly Bean. This was announced in an interview with TechRadar by Vice President Benson Lin. "We are working very closely with Google, so immediately after the release of Android 5.0, there is a very high probability that our products will be the first to receive the update to this version of the operating system," Lin said.

The most likely candidate for the role of OS pioneer is the ASUS Padfone hybrid smartphone and tablet presented at MWC 2012, which is scheduled for release in April this year. If ASUS still fails to become the first, then only because of the release of a new version of Google's Nexus smartphone.
