Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. AnkerMake M3 5D printer 10.04.2022

Anker, known as a manufacturer of chargers, has taken up the manufacture of 3D printers. The company announced a separate brand for AnkerMake 3D printing products and the first model of the AnkerMake M3 5D printer.

According to the manufacturer, this novelty solves the most important problems that prevented 3D printers from becoming mainstream devices, including their usually slow print speed. The AnkerMake M5 has a base print speed of 250mm/s for detailed designs that require precision workmanship.

However, the printer also has a much faster mode, allowing you to print at speeds up to 2500mm/s. Although in this case the end result will be coarser and less detailed. This mode is mainly suitable for prototypes and some toys. However, Anker claims that this mode allows the M5 to cut average print times by up to 70% compared to other 3D printers.

Additionally, the AnkerMake M5 is designed with ease of use in mind. It only takes 15 minutes to get ready to start printing. In addition, the developers have eliminated another problematic aspect of 3D printers - the need for constant monitoring.

The M5 has the ability to control the print job with a built-in AI camera. If it detects any problems, such as a clogged nozzle, the system can send an alert to the user's smartphone. And through the Anker mobile app, you can remotely view live print jobs.
