Teacher, educate a student so that there is someone to learn from later

Vinokurov E.M.
Vinokurov E.M.

Phraseologism: Teacher, educate a student so that there is someone to learn from later.

Meaning: It is cited as a call to share knowledge, skills, which eventually multiply and serve everyone - both the teacher and the student.

Origin: The source is a poem (publ. 1961) without a title (***) by the Soviet poet Yevgeny Mikhailovich Vinokurov (1925-1993): "Artist, educate a student, // Do not spare his strength for the sake of his teaching. // Let his hand lead after you / / Doodles on a checkered notebook. // Let him look down on you, // Considering himself a seer. // Artist, educate a student, // So that you have someone to learn later." The last two lines of the poem entered into a wide speech turnover in a more general form: "Teacher, educate ...", etc.

Random phraseology:

Change of milestones.

Meaning:

Change of ideology, views, principles, priorities.

Origin:

The title of a collection of articles written by Russian émigré publicists, published (July, 1921) in Prague. It is assumed that the very name of the collection "Change of milestones" belongs to Yu. V. Klyuchnikov, one of its authors. Thus, he wanted to recall a similar collection "Milestones" (1909), which its authors (Berdyaev, Bulgakov, Gershenzon and others) published in order to analyze the causes and consequences of the first Russian revolution of 1905-1907. After the publication of the collection "Change of milestones" its authors began to publish in Paris a magazine with the same name (1921-1922). In connection with the introduction of the "New Economic Policy" (NEP) in Soviet Russia, new sentiments arose among the emigrants, the main spokesman for which was N. V. Ustryalov, a lawyer, former Privatdozent of Moscow University, who actively fought against the Bolsheviks. He and his supporters viewed the NEP as a liberalization of the Communist Party's policy, as its step back "from communism to capitalism." In the hope that the NEP would lead to a rejection of the extremes of communist politics, the "Smenovekhites" announced their "reconciliation" with the Soviet regime. In the USSR, such sentiments were called ironically "Smenovekhovism" and criticized by V. I. Lenin as unfounded hopes for the degeneration of the Soviet system.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Photonic Processor 31.12.2015

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Colorado at Boulder (USA) have developed a processor that communicates with other components of a computing system using light rather than electrons.

The 3 x 6 mm chip contains two standard computing cores with over 70 million transistors and 850 light transmission elements. It is based on the RISC-V architecture and was manufactured using traditional microelectronics materials such as silicon and germanium at a factory that mass-produces modern microcircuits.

Compared to traditional conductors, fiber optic links offer higher bandwidth, allowing more data to be transmitted at higher speeds, over longer distances, and with less loss. However, despite the fact that photonics offers obvious advantages to computing systems, the practical implementation of its principles is a rather difficult undertaking.

So far, no one has been able to integrate optical components into the complex and costly streamlined production processes that produce modern computer chips without fundamentally changing them.

The researchers' work opens the door to a new era of data-intensive applications. The nearest area of application for processors with photonic communication is data centers, where there is a problem of increasing power consumption. According to the US National Council on Natural Resources Conservation, in 2013 data centers in the US accounted for about 91 billion kilowatt-hours of energy consumption, which accounted for about 2% of the total energy consumption in the country. A new type of processor would help solve the problem of the increasing power consumption of data centers.
