Griboyedov A.S.

Phraseologism: But because patriots.

Meaning: An ironic commentary on someone's attempts to justify their simple worldly calculations with lofty patriotic words.

Origin: From the comedy "Woe from Wit" (1824) by A. S. Griboyedov (1795-1829). Famusov’s words (act. 2, yavl. 5): “And whoever has seen daughters, hang your head! that patriots."

Random phraseology:

Jester Balakirev.

Meaning:

Cheerful, joker, the soul of the company.

Origin:

Ivan Alexandrovich Balakirev (1699-1763) - a trusted servant of Emperor Peter I and his wife Catherine I, later court jester of Empress Anna Ioannovna. He enjoyed the fame of a great wit and joker. His name became popular after the book "Collection of Balakirev's Anecdotes" was published in 1830, which then went through more than 70 editions. The book was a collection of witticisms and funny stories from different European countries, but attributed to Balakirev. The name Balakirev has become a household name for every merry fellow, joker, etc. Apparently, this was facilitated by the surname itself - Balakirev, consonant with the verbs "joke", "balakat" (dialect.), that is, chat, talk.

This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
