Phraseologism: Not a dogma, but a guide to action.
Meaning: On a creative approach to theory, scientific thesis, etc. (jokingly ironic).
Origin: The primary source is a letter (November 29, 1886) from Friedrich Engels (1820-1895) to F. A. Sorge. Engels, criticizing the German Social Democrats who moved to America, wrote that they consider Marxism "doctorally and dogmatically, as something that must be learned by heart, and then this is enough for all occasions. For them, this is a dogma, not a manual to action" (Marx K., Engels F. Soch. T. 36, M., 1964). The expression became famous in Russia thanks to V.I. Lenin, who used it repeatedly, slightly paraphrasing, and it was in this Leninist version that it became winged. For example, in the article "The Childhood Disease of 'Leftism' in Communism" (1920), he wrote: "Our theory is not a dogma, but a guide to action," said Marx and Engels...

The expression arose from the gospel story (Luke, 23:1-12) about how Jesus, captured by his opponents, was brought to trial by Pontius Pilate, the Roman procurator in Palestine. Pontius Pilate, having learned that Jesus was a native of Galilee, sent him to Herod, who ruled this region. When Jesus refused to answer Herod, he sent him back to Pontius Pilate. The people, accustomed to hearing two words: "Pontius" and "Pilate", perceived them as the names of two persons, while the name of Herod fell out in the popular perception of this gospel story. Freescale Semiconductor announced the start of mass shipments of i.MX 6SoloX single-chip systems equipped with encryption blocks and other security tools for home electronics, the Internet of things and on-board electronics "connected cars".
Among the advantages of i.MX 6SoloX, the manufacturer highlights information security tools. The single-chip configuration includes encryption blocks and a configurable resource domain controller that allows you to block peripheral blocks or allow them to be shared by processor cores. The controller is supplemented with a secure messaging semaphore that allows software running on different operating systems to safely use the same peripherals. In addition, there is bootstrap protection and secure data storage. These hardware mechanisms make it possible to create solutions that meet the unique requirements of each application.
The i.MX 6SoloX single-chip system integrates ARM Cortex-M4 and Cortex-A9 cores, which allows you to combine the support of an operating system with a colorful user interface running on the Cortex-A9 core with a real-time operating system on the Cortex-M4 core. CPU power is controlled independently, which ensures low power consumption and fast recovery from power-saving modes. The multi-OS architecture allows you to completely disable the Cortex-A9 core, leaving the Cortex-M4 to continue performing low-level system monitoring tasks.
Other highlights of the i.MX 6SoloX include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with Audio Video Bridging, GPU, DDR QSPI and NAND bootstrap support, and a DDR3 LP-DDR2 memory controller.
We should also note the rich set of peripheral interfaces and the fact that i.MX 6SoloX has a wide range of development tools for Android and Linux (for Cortex-A9) and MQX OS (for Cortex-M4).
