Throw nooses
Proverbs and sayings
Phraseologism: Throw loops.
Meaning: To deceive, to try to confuse someone.
Origin: An expression from the language of tailors: throw loops - sheathe loops on clothes. Then the expression passed into the language of hunters, where throwing loops means "writing complex closed curves on the run."
Random phraseology:
Now you are letting go.
Meaning:
About the moment when something long-awaited happened, after which you can breathe easy, relax, etc.
Origin:
From the Bible (Church Slavonic text). According to the Gospel of Luke (ch. 2, st. 29-30), this was the cry of the pious elder Simeon, who was foretold from above that he would not die until he saw the born Christ. And when the baby Jesus was brought to the temple on the fortieth day after his birth, Simeon, taking the baby in his arms, said (according to the Old Church Slavonic text of the Bible): “Now let your servant go, Master, according to your word in peace, as if my eyes have seen your salvation” . So the meeting in the temple allowed Simeon to complete his life. The church holiday of the Presentation of the Lord is dedicated to this event, when these gospel lines are read in churches. The folklore Russian tradition rethought this holiday as a meeting (meeting) of winter in the summer. Sometimes found in the Latin version: "Nunc dimittis". |

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food.
