Divine love and Divine truth emanating from it can be likened to solar fire and light from Him: love is like solar fire, and truth emanating from love is like light emanating from the sun, likewise and by correspondence, fire means love, and light is truth, emanating from her.
Time is initially a state, because it completely depends on the state of love in which you are. It is short for those in a state of pleasure and joy, long for those in displeasure and sorrow, and changeable for a person in a state of hope and expectation.
Everything in the world belongs to the good and to the truth, the life of the will of man, i.e. the life of his love belongs to the good, but the life of the mind of man, i.e. the life of his faith, to the truth. So, if all goodness and truth come from above, then all life also comes from there.
Everything unknown is in the mind like a shadow that does not allow to see the object as it is in itself.
All pleasures flow from love: what a person loves, he feels it as pleasure and does not find it at all in another source, from this it follows that what love is, such is pleasure.
The universe, with each and every one of the things it contains, is created by Divine Love through Divine Wisdom.
All the power of truth comes from the good, and truth without good is powerless, but, on the other hand, all the power of good is manifested through truth, and without it the good is powerless: power arises only as a result of the union of good and truth.
One must know that the natural world is and exists as a result of the spiritual world in exactly the same way as the effect from its cause.
The spiritual light in man is the light of his reason, the objects of which are truths, arranged by him in an analytical order, on the basis of which he reasons and draws consistent conclusions.
If you gather together all that you know, and bring it all under the gaze of your mind (mentis), and investigate, with a certain exaltation of spirit, what is universal in everything, then you will in no way conclude except in this way that universal this is Love and Wisdom, for they are the two that make up everything essential in everything in a person’s life, everything that is civic, everything that is Moral and everything that is Spiritual depends on both of them, and without them all this is nothing.
The wife becomes more and more a wife as the husband becomes more and more a husband.
For what can be the subject of persuasion is more important for the spirit than what is given by faith in authority, not supported by understanding and reason. Such knowledge does not enter deeply into the mind, being fixed only in the memory, and there it is mixed with delusions and false concepts, and therefore is lower than reasonable beliefs.
Hypothetical truth is not truth itself, it is only an assumption of Truth, it is the same as a picture seen on a wall at night, in the light of stars: the mind gives this painting a varied form, depending on fantasy, it is another matter when, after dawn, sunlight illuminates this painting, and not only the whole, but also all its details will be visible.
Truth is the image of the Good.
True wisdom and true understanding consist in seeing and comprehending what is truth and good, and then what is false and what is evil, and to make a proper distinction between the one and the other by the power of inner vision and comprehension.
There is only one source of life, and the life of a person is a stream flowing from it, which, if it is not constantly fed from its source, immediately dries up. From this one source of life, which is the Lord, nothing else proceeds but Divine good and Divine truth, which every man loves insofar as he accepts them. Whoever accepts them by faith and life lives the life of heaven, but whoever rejects or suppresses them changes them to hell, for he turns good into evil, and truth into falsehood, and therefore life into death.
Whoever looks at people under the influence of spiritual truth looks at them in no other way: he sees that each person is like another, whether he occupies a large or small position, and that the difference between them is only in wisdom, and wisdom consists in loving service, that is, the good of fellow citizens, society, the fatherland and the church.
Only after his rebirth does a person gain freedom for the first time, remaining until that moment in absolute slavery, for he is in slavery as long as he is ruled by lusts and delusions, because freedom is the dominion of striving for the good and for truth.
Spiritual love, respect and honor are nothing but love, respect and honor given to a service performed by a person, a service brings honor to a person, and not a person brings its service.
People who have true conjugal love constantly strive to be together, and those who do not have such love strive to be apart. Conjugal love, in fact, is nothing more than the desire of two people to unite into one person. In other words, they want their two lives to become one.
To think and want, but not to fulfill, not to do, when there is an opportunity, would mean to put the flame in a vessel and cover it so that it would die out, or to sow a seed in dry sand, where it would not sprout and perish with all its fertility. On the contrary, to think, to want and then to act is like a fiery fire that spreads warmth and light around, or a seed in rich soil that grows into a tree or a flower and lives. Everyone understands that to want and not to do when possible means not to want, and that to love good, but not to do it, means not to love good. It would mean only thinking that you want and love something, and such an abstract thought, not applied to the case, fades away and turns into nothing.
There is no sweeter love than the love of two spouses whose hearts beat as one.
But these truths, however, can be recognized and, when they are known, understood, if only the mind enjoys them, for pleasure, proceeding from love, brings light with it, and this light, illuminating people who love objects related to the Divine and heavenly wisdom, shines on them from heaven.
The instrument of bodily vision, i.e. the eye, so crudely that, as everyone knows, it cannot see the smallest products of nature without the help of optical projectiles; everything belonging to the spiritual world.
A thousand people can do the same thing, that is, act or act in the same way, and, moreover, so similar that with regard to manifestation or appearance, it is almost impossible to find any difference in these works. And meanwhile, each of these cases, considered by itself, will be different, because each came from a different cause or will.
A man becomes a man not by virtue of the earthly and material principles from which his body was formed, but by virtue of the fact that he can understand the truth and want the good, this last is that spiritual and heavenly thing that really makes up a person.
That the innermost beginning of life in man comes from love, this, with a little reflection, is clear to everyone, and for sure: a person ignites from the presence of love in him, in the absence of it he freezes, and when deprived of it altogether, he dies. You should know that the life of every person is the same as his love.
