Focus Description:

The performer shows the rings and keys to two assistants called from the public and asks them to carefully examine them. Then he shows two laces and takes the rings from the assistant; threads the laces through them and ties them in a knot (Fig. 4). Allows one of the assistants to hold the two ends of the laces - one lace in each hand. Taking the keys, he threads the laces into one of them and again knots them together with the rings, and gives the other two ends to hold the second assistant. He takes the next key, threads the laces taken from the first assistant into it, ties the ends in a knot and gives them to hold the same assistant. Taking two ends from the second assistant, he threads them into the third key, ties them in a knot again and gives the ends to the second assistant. (For clarity, in figures 4 and 5, all knots are shown not completely tightened.)

Then the illusionist asks one of the assistants to take off the jacket and show it on both sides to the audience, after which both assistants (the performer at this time holds the jacket by the collar, the back of the jacket is facing the audience) thread the laces through the sleeves. Both assistants hold one shoelace in each hand.

Having done all this, the performer takes one lace from the assistants and ties them in a knot (Fig. 6).

The assistants hold the four ends of the laces, and the magician puts his hands inside the jacket and takes out first the rings, and then three keys one by one. He asks assistants to pull the laces, which they do. The performer holds a jacket by the collar, which hangs in his hands, and the assistants keep the laces completely intact.

Props:

Two laces, 2 m each. A good smooth, so-called "curtain" cord.

White threads, in the color of the laces.

Five rings with a diameter of 7-8 cm and a thickness of 4-5 mm. Rings can be made of any material, but preferably metal, chrome or nickel.

Three large keys (preferably from internal door locks).

Focus secret:

Having laid the laces side by side, they are tied up exactly in the middle with a white thread (Fig. 21, A). Then they are bent at the place of their ligament (Fig. 21, B) in such a way that if you close the thread, it will seem that the laces lie freely on the hand (Fig. 21, B). The palm should not be visible to the audience. You can pinch the place of the ligament between the index and thumb of the left hand and this hide the ligament.

Starting the number, the performer casually holds the prepared laces in his left hand, and in his right hand - the rings, which he allows to inspect, at the same time he shows the keys. Taking the rings in his left hand, he threads the laces into them at the place of their ligament and ties a knot (see Fig. 4). Now the bundle is inside the rings, and there is nothing to be afraid of being noticed. However, you should not let a stranger touch the rings: he may inadvertently cut off below.

After the rings are tied, everything happens as we described: the keys are strung one by one on the laces and each is tied with a knot (see Fig. 5). Then the laces are threaded into the sleeves of the jacket (Fig. 22).

The assistant holds the ends of the laces, and the performer, going behind the jacket, asks each of them to give him one lace. The assistants support the jacket, each on one lace, and the magician pulls the laces together in a knot, thereby tying the sleeves of the jacket (see Fig. 6) and gives one lace to the assistants. Care must be taken that they hold a cord in each hand and do not pull it too hard, otherwise it will be difficult to untie the knots.

Imperceptibly, by turning the ring, the performer breaks the thread-bundle and, having removed the rings with his left hand, puts it on the table or on the floor, and with his right hand he imperceptibly continues to untie the knot and removes two keys one at a time. Having removed the third key and holding the untied laces with his right hand, he asks the assistants to pull the laces. With his left hand he takes the collar of his jacket, lowers his right hand, and the jacket, freed from the laces, hangs in the left hand of the performer, and the assistants have whole laces in their hands.

The bundle thread may fall to the floor if you do not hide it in your hand when breaking it. If this happens, you should quietly step on it with your foot and throw it away.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
