EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Disappearing bowl filled with water. Focus secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: It seems to the audience that the cup was "taken away" right from under their noses. The magician's assistant enters the stage carrying a large bowl on a tray. The magician takes a jug and defiantly fills the bowl with water, then he covers it with a handkerchief. Then he removes the bowl covered with a handkerchief from the tray and takes a few steps to the edge of the stage. Suddenly, the magician throws a handkerchief into the air: the bowl of water has disappeared without a trace! Focus secret: For this trick, you need to prepare a bowl, a tray and a handkerchief. A. Bowl. It is best to use a light metal, or wooden, or plastic bowl with thin walls. From above, the opening of the bowl should be half closed, sealed with a thin sheet of plastic, as shown in the figure. The plastic will prevent water from spilling out when the bowl is tilted 90°. Place the plastic inside the bowl just below the rim and glue with epoxy or other moisture-resistant glue. At the hardware store, buy a "hook and shackle" fastener. Attach the hook to the bottom of the bowl on the outside with epoxy or other strong adhesive. You can attach the hook to the bowl with a bolt and nut as well, but check to see if water will then flow through the drilled hole, which you will coat with waterproof putty. The bowl is ready. B. Tray. The tray can be cut out of 90mm plywood, which you will design in the same style as the rest of the props. Or buy a thin metal (wooden, plastic) tray from the store. Secure the bracket to one side of the tray with short wood screws, or a bolt and nut, or epoxy. Color the bracket to match the color of the tray. The bracket and hook should be positioned so that you can covertly attach the bowl to the tray. Now you can turn the tray with the bowl XNUMX°, that is, keep it perpendicular to the floor, hiding the bowl behind it from the audience. Note. When you lower the tray in this position, the edge of the bowl, sealed with plastic, should be at the bottom, that is, the water from the bowl will not spill out. S.Platok. The scarf consists of two scarves sewn along the edge, and between them there is a disc sewn in the center made of cardboard or hard plastic, corresponding in size to the upper diameter of the bowl. 1. A bowl, a folded handkerchief and a jug of water are on your table. At the appointed time, your assistant enters the stage with a tray in her hands. You place the bowl on the tray, surreptitiously hooking it onto a hook attached to the tray. Take a pitcher and pour water into the bowl. Note. At the moment, the bowl is set so that its open half is turned towards the audience. 2. Take the handkerchief from the table and unfold it. Treat it in such a way as not to "light up" the secret disk hidden in the double handkerchief. 3. Use both hands to spread the handkerchief over the bowl. Lay it so that the edges of the disc line up exactly with the edges of the bowl. 4. At this stage of the procedure, the synchronism of actions is extremely important. Grasp the disk with both hands as if it were a bowl. Raise the disk up, turning around to face the audience. At the very moment you begin to lift the disk handkerchief, your assistant begins to tilt the tray, lifting the front (facing the audience) edge up, and takes a step back. 5. The figure shows how the bowl, attached to the tray, moves into a position where it is hidden from the audience by the tray. Plastic glued to the bowl prevents water from pouring out of it. 6. Take a step forward, carrying a bowl covered with a handkerchief (actually only a disk). All the attention of the audience will be focused on you, which will give the assistant the opportunity to secretly remove the cup from the stage, hidden behind a tray hanging in her hand. 7. Take a few more steps closer to the edge of the stage. You can "stumble" at the edge, and the audience in the front rows will gasp. This comic touch should once again convince the audience that you are carrying a heavy bowl of water under your handkerchief. Suddenly throw the handkerchief into the air. As it falls to the floor, catch one corner (or two corners, if you like) and shake the handkerchief. Show both sides of it to the public and pass it on to your assistant. The audience will be amazed to see that the bowl of water has melted into the air.
