You have, of course, friends in the camp or at the dacha. If you decide to go hiking with your friends, you will be interested in what the weather will be like. To determine it, you can make a "perpetual barometer". To make it, take a 10% solution of cobalt nitrate or another solution: cobalt chloride (1 weight part), gelatin (10 weight parts) and soda (10 weight parts).

Saturate a thin white cloth with one of these solutions and, when it dries, stick it on cardboard. Dry tissue will have a blue color, it will turn pink in moist air, and the more humidity, the stronger. Watching the change in the color of the fabric, one can judge the approach of rain.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Sharp 4K TV Recorder 25.05.2014

Sharp Corporation introduced the industry's first recorder for recording and playback of ultra-high definition (4K) television content. The novelty is called Aquos TU-UD1000.

A 4K test broadcast will be held in Japan on June 2. The project is supported by the Next Generation Television & Broadcasting Promotion Forum (NexTV-F), a consortium that includes dozens of companies including Fujitsu, Sony, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, KDDI, NEC, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sharp.

The Aquos TU-UD4 uses a 1000TB hard drive to store 1K footage. This volume is enough to record approximately 50 hours of ultra-high resolution material (3840x2160 pixels).

The recorder is equipped with a TV tuner, Gigabit Ethernet network controller, HDMI and USB interfaces. Dimensions are 430x236x68 mm, weight - approximately 3,3 kg.

The recorder will go on sale on June 25 at an estimated price of $1200. The initial production capacity will be 2000 pieces per month.

Note that the 4K TV market is growing rapidly. According to forecasts, shipments of such panels this year will be from 15 to 20 million units. The share of 4K devices in the total sales of TV panels can reach 10%. In the next five years, experts predict the rapid growth of this market. Demand for 4K panels by 2018 will grow by 68,4 million devices.
