Universal wireless sensor node STEVAL-MKSBOX1V1 for the Internet of Things

STMicroelectronics has released a new complete wireless device STEVAL-MKSBOX1V1, which is a set of various sensors, a battery and a wireless BLE interface in a matchbox-sized package.

STEVAL-MKSBOX1V1 not only allows you to measure many parameters - temperature, pressure, humidity, position in space, motion and sound, but also perform calculations thanks to the built-in ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller with DSP and FPU (STM32L4R9) with ultra-low power consumption. To interact with a smartphone, a special ST BLE Sensor application is provided.

STEVAL-MKSBOX1V1 (SensorTile.box) is a ready-to-use wearable and wireless IoT platform that will help you build applications based on various sensors. The plastic case houses the SensorTile.box board and battery, while the ST BLE Sensor app is installed on a smartphone and connected via Bluetooth. You can develop your applications based on sensor measurements with parameter setting and special functions in Expert Mode. In this way, you can create wireless IoT devices and gadgets, bypassing the stage of classical programming.

Using the STM32 ODE open environment debugging interface, which includes a package of functions for processing sensor data with the participation of AI and neural network libraries, you can develop more complex firmware for the STM32L4 microcontroller.

SensorTile.box includes the following high precision sensors:

Temperature sensor (STTS751);
6-axis inertial MEMS (LSM6DSOX);
Tri-axis accelerometers (LIS2DW12 and LIS3DHH);
3-axis magnetometer (LIS2MDL);
Pressure sensor / altimeter / (LPS22HH);
Microphone/audio sensor (MP23ABS1);
Humidity sensor (HTS221).

A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi Pro Router 25.10.2019

Huawei has unveiled Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi, a mobile WiFi router with a built-in 5G modem that can also act as a power bank for other mobile devices.

Externally, Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi resembles a regular portable battery in a rectangular case. At the same time, the design of the router echoes the Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design premium smartphone: here the front panel is leather-like, diluted with a vertical strip of black glass in the center.

Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi equipment includes the Balong 5 5000G modem with support for non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (Standalone, SA) networks, which we detailed here. Huawei claims speeds of up to 1,56 Gbps (connection) and up to 867 Mbps (connection).

The younger 5G Mobile WiFi is equipped with a built-in 4000 mAh battery, and the older 5G Mobile WiFi Pro has an element twice as large - 8000 mAh. In addition, support for triple fast charging is announced for the older model: the battery itself supports Huawei's proprietary 40-watt charging technology using a charger of the appropriate power and at the same time can quickly charge other mobile devices with 22,5 W over the wire and 18 W over the air (reverse wireless charger).

Another feature of Huawei 5G Mobile WiFi is a small informative display at the top, where a QR code can be displayed to quickly connect to the network.
