Asus ROG gaming laptops with 300Hz refresh rate

Asus-owned Republic of Gamers has introduced record-breaking 300Hz refresh rate displays to select Strix and Zephyrus gaming laptops. The first model with such parameters, Zephyrus S (GX701), will appear in October, followed by a number of gaming devices with the highest screen refresh rate.

The goal of ROG engineers was not only to achieve record refresh rates, but also to make the gaming experience as smooth and responsive as possible. The high refresh rate of the screen allows you to increase the frame rate, which is especially important in dynamic games, where every fraction of a second can decide the outcome of the battle.

With a high refresh rate, gameplay feels smoother, and a faster response time avoids blur when displaying fast-moving objects. In practice, in dynamic games, this means the ability to react faster to what is happening, for example, to aim more accurately at moving objects. With a 144Hz refresh rate sensor, gray-to-gray response time was reduced to just 7ms, four times faster than peers at the time. In 2018, another major step was taken: the response time was reduced to 3ms, and high refresh rates became available in the screens of the entire line of ROG gaming laptops based on Intel Coffee Lake processors.

Upgraded to 300Hz, the screen refresh rate is 25% faster than the current standard for professional eSports tournaments and five times faster than the 60Hz refresh rate found on conventional monitors. Combined with a powerful graphics card capable of processing a huge number of frames per second, gaming on such a laptop runs absolutely smoothly.

The high refresh rate will also be supported by the Zephyrus ultra-thin gaming laptops, which are equally well suited for gaming and professional graphics work. The 300Hz refresh rate will be supported by the 15- and 17-inch Zephyrus S models (GX502 and GX701). In addition, both Zephyrus S laptop models feature an exclusive graphics mode switching feature. NVIDIA Optimus technology allows you to use the laptop's integrated graphics card by default and connect discrete graphics with G-Sync support only for graphics-intensive tasks and games. Zephyrus S models are factory calibrated and PANTONE Validated to ensure the color accuracy required for professional graphics work.
