Remastered Sega Genesis

Sega has announced the release of an updated retro version of its Sega Genesis console at the end of this year. The novelty will be called Sega Genesis Mini in America, and in Japan it will be called Mega Drive Mini. This device will be equipped with 40 built-in games at once, and will go on sale on September 19 this year.

Genesis Mini will have slightly different games for different countries right after release. The Japanese version will include popular titles such as Castlevania Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, Madou Monogatari Ichi, Powerball, Puyo Puyo 2, Rent-a-Hero, Shining Force, Sonic 2, Space Harrier II and more, while while the US consumer version will include Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Ecco the Dolphin, Gunstar Heroes, Shining Force, Sonic The Hedgehog, Space Harrier II, ToeJam & Earl and more. It is also assumed that the final list of games will change at the output, and as a result, the built-in library will have more than 40 declared games.

In addition to games, there are other minor differences in the updated consoles. So the US version of the Genesis Mini will come with a pair of 79,99-button USB controllers and sell for $6, while the Japanese Mega Drive Mini comes with one 6-button controller and will sell for 980 yen. which translates to about $60. However, for the Japanese market, a version with an additional controller for $80 will also be available for purchase. Sega also stated that pre-order links would be coming soon.

This decision of the company is due to the fact that in recent years there has been a rapid growth in the market for the so-called "nostalgic consoles". For example, back in 2016, Nintendo released the NES Classic, and a year later, the SNES Classic. However, at the moment, it is extremely problematic to purchase them, because both consoles have since gone out of production. Last year, Sony decided to support this trend by releasing its own updated version of the PlayStation Classic. Tiny consoles connect to a modern TV and allow players to play the games of bygone generations.

This is not Sega's first foray into the retro gaming market. The company originally announced the Mega Drive Mini a year ago for the original device's 30th anniversary. However, at the end of 2018, the company announced that it was postponing the release, apparently due to quality issues that had plagued previous Sega consoles. At Sega Fes 2019, the company also revealed that developer M2 will replace AtGames to produce games for the updated device.

The Audi Group, part of the German automaker Volkswagen, has developed an intelligent system that informs motorists about the work of traffic lights in the city. An electronic assistant called Audi Traffic Light Recognition is able to reduce the number of traffic jams, as well as reduce fuel consumption and emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

According to the idea of the Ingolstadt developers, data on traffic signals on the way of the car will be displayed on the dashboard. There, the driver will also be able to see a hint with the optimal speed, which must be selected in order to pass the nearest intersection on a green light. To do this, car electronics will be connected to the city's traffic light control center via the Internet.

If the vehicle stops at a red light, the driver will see a countdown timer in front of him, showing the time until the green light turns on. At the same time, the technology will be able to work in tandem with the Start / Stop system, which turns off the engine during downtime and starts it again when the driver presses the gas pedal. In the case of Audi Traffic Light Recognition, the engine will start five seconds before the traffic light turns on.

Audi claims that by teaching cars to interact with traffic lights, it will be possible to reduce the level of harmful emissions by 15%. The introduction of the development in the territory of Germany alone will save about 900 million liters of fuel. In addition, the project will help optimize car traffic by reducing the number of traffic congestion.

The traffic light recognition system is being tested in several cities, including Verona, Berlin and Las Vegas. According to the automaker, the new product is ready for mass production and can be installed in all new Audi models, but first it is necessary to obtain permission from the authorities to implement the project.
