New MOSFETs for automotive applications from Toshiba

19.05.2018

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched two new 5mm x 6mm SOP Advance (WF) miniature low-resistance MOSFETs as an addition to its high power 40V n-channel MOSFET series for automotive applications. The TPHR7904PB and TPH1R104PB transistors are AEC-Q101 certified for a variety of automotive applications, including electric power steering (EPS), load switches, electric pumps, fans, etc.

The new MOSFETs are manufactured using the state-of-the-art ninth generation U-MOS IX-H groove forming process in a miniature, low-resistance package with low on-resistance (RDS(ON)) down to 0,79 mΩ (maximum value at VGS). =10 V), thereby reducing conduction losses. The devices have a drain-to-source voltage rating (VDSS) of 40V and can drive drain current (ID) up to 150A DC. U-MOS IX-H technology also reduces switching noise, helping to reduce electromagnetic interference.

The SOP Advance (WF) package uses a wetted side lead design to automatically visually inspect PCB soldering, a key quality control requirement in the automotive industry.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Video surveillance in Moscow schools 29.04.2012

Schools will be connected to the Moscow city video surveillance system. By the end of the year, cameras that will monitor security in schoolyards will be installed in 30% of the educational institutions of the capital, Artyom Yermolaev, head of the Department of Information Technologies of the capital, said at a conference with school principals on the introduction of information technologies in education.

Electronic student cards, the introduction of which has begun in 200 pilot educational institutions of the capital, will help track the visits of outsiders and establish control over school attendance. The student will be asked to present their card to a special validator at the entrance and exit of the school. At the request of the family, information about the student's movements will be sent to the parents' mobile phone.

Electronic cards are also planned to be used for non-cash payments in the canteen and food accounting for beneficiaries. At the same time, the child's relatives will be able to control the time of eating and see the school menu. In the future, the student's temporary cards will be replaced by the Universal Electronic Card, the launch of which at the federal level is scheduled for January 1, 2013. In order to take part in testing, the school administration must submit an application to the district education department.

The conference participants also discussed issues related to the introduction of electronic diaries and journals in schools. The deputy head of the Department of Education, Veniamin Kaganov, said the city would not object to the complete elimination of paper diaries if the school is fully confident in the sustainability of its electronic processes. At the same time, he asked institutions that have not yet begun to introduce electronic diaries to decide by the beginning of the next academic year.

The head of DIT Artyom Ermolaev noted that the city-wide system dnevnik.mos.ru will be actively developed, which will not only allow you to comfortably start working with electronic diaries from scratch, but also help to seamlessly integrate those disparate solutions that are already in educational institutions. A Department of Education spokesman said that a recent study by the department found a correlation between how actively a school communicates with parents through electronic diary systems and the level of satisfaction with the quality of education in a particular school. Representatives of the pedagogical community confirmed that the new tools do not destroy the traditional communication with parents, but make the interaction more constructive and intense.

The participants of the discussion emphasized that the introduction of new electronic services in education is financed from the city budget and is free for both schools and parents.

To cope with the influx of modern technology in schools - last year alone, a computer class was updated in 500 educational institutions, and 27 subject teachers received personal laptops - the launch of a unified technical support service will help, on the website of which you can also check the schedule for entering the school purchased by the city equipment.
