Studying patients after the removal of a brain tumor that destroyed a certain part of it, neurophysiologists from the University of Berkeley (USA) discovered where a person has a sense of shame.

When such patients, deprived of a certain part of the brain, were asked about unpleasant situations that happened in their lives, they without any feeling of inconvenience recounted the details of their behavior that did not do them credit. They did not hesitate to reveal compromising details about other participants in the incident, even about their friends and relatives. The rest of the patients behaved normally.

Physiologists suggest that the spontaneous nocturnal activity of the “center of shame,” which lies just behind the frontal bone above the eye sockets, causes occasional dreams like “Counselor Popov’s sleep,” in which we are not fully dressed in a public place.

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention.
