The Drone Racing League (DRL), which describes itself as "the world leader in professional drone racing," has announced that it has achieved a "record-breaking flight speed for a battery-powered, remote-controlled quadcopter." It is with this wording that the value of 263 km / h is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

The maximum speed during the record flight was even higher, but according to the conditions of the record book, the average value obtained when moving along a measured section 100 m long in the forward and reverse direction is used.

The DRL RacerX record-breaking drone was designed and built by DRL engineers led by Ryan Gury. The apparatus weighing 800 g is set in motion by screws rotating at a speed of 46 rpm. Power is provided by a pair of 000 mAh batteries.
