Camcorders JVC GZ-R550 and GZ-R440

20.05.2017

JVC has introduced the new all-weather Everio R series camcorders, the GZ-R550 and GZ-R440 models, which will go on sale this month.

New items are made in accordance with Quad-Proof technology, which provides comprehensive protection. The devices are not afraid of diving under water to a depth of up to five meters, as well as falling from a height of up to one and a half meters. In addition, the cameras are not afraid of dust and are guaranteed to remain operational when operating at temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. Finally, camcorders do not sink in water, so you don't have to worry about losing them when shooting during active water sports.

Camcorders are endowed with Konica Minolta HD Lens optics. 40x optical zoom and 60x Dynamic Zoom are supported. A 2,5-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and a FALCONBRID image processor are used.
The camcorders are equipped with a 3-inch touchscreen display. Video recording can be done with the screen closed.

The black Everio R GZ-R550 supports AVCHD Progressive recording and comes with 32GB of built-in memory. The price is 500 USD. The Everio R GZ-R440 will be available in black and orange. This modification, endowed with 4 GB of memory, is estimated at $ 400.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Cargo Buddy Electric Cargo Bike 27.06.2023

The German company Ruff Cycles, aimed at participating in urban mobility, has introduced the Cargo Buddy electric cargo bike. The designers took inspiration from the world of hip-hop and laid-back street aesthetics to create a unique bike design.

Cargo Buddy has a simple tubular frame and wide 80-inch tires, which allows it to have high ground clearance and excellent flotation. In the front part there is a cargo basket in which you can carry up to 260 kg of cargo or place a child. The maximum load capacity of the bike is XNUMX kg including the weight of the rider.

Unlike most cargo bikes, the Cargo Buddy is compact. Its length is 2350 mm and its width is 780 mm. This German bike also has a long saddle that allows the rider to place the child in front of him.

The bike is equipped with a Bosch Performance Line CX engine with 85 Nm of torque (power not specified), Shimano drivetrain and a 500 Wh battery. The battery charge is claimed to be sufficient for daily commuting around the city, though exact numbers are not given.

Ruff Cycles Cargo Buddy weighs 47 kg.
