One of the first mini-computers in the form of a TV key fob with 4 GB of RAM may soon appear on the market. We are talking about the MeegoPad T07 device, the money for the release of which is collected through the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform.

The compact computer is based on the Intel Cherry Trail platform. The developer used a 14-nanometer Atom x5-Z8300 processor. The chip includes four computing cores with a nominal clock frequency of 1,44 GHz (increases to 1,84 GHz in turbo mode). Graphics processing is occupied by the integrated Intel HD Graphics controller.

The key fob is equipped with a flash module with a capacity of 32 GB, expandable with a microSD card (up to 128 GB). There are Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless adapters.

An HDMI connector is used to connect to a TV or computer monitor. In addition, there are two USB 2.0 ports for peripherals, as well as a Micro-USB connector for power supply. Dimensions are 106 x 53 x 13,5 mm, weight - 50 grams.

It is planned to install the Windows 10 Home operating system on the key fob. While the price of the device is about 110 US dollars.

Hydrogen storage in residential areas 18.06.2021

German company HPS Home Power Solutions and Wohnwerke have developed a hydrogen-based energy storage system for residential applications.

The new system, called Picea, will be sold under the Neubauten brand and will first be tested in a model house in Asperglen-Rudersberg near Stuttgart, which should confirm the availability and reliability of the system.

The system is planned to be connected to a photovoltaic system and store electricity using hydrogen power-to-gas technology, which the manufacturer says provides year-round, independent, CO2-free electricity for single- or two-family homes. The system also uses all process heat from energy production, storage and use to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat a home.

HPS Home Power Solutions claims an overall utilization rate of its Picea system is around 90 percent. In addition, its capacity is more than 100 times the capacity of available household batteries.

Late last year, Wohnwerke began commercial production of its autonomous energy storage system. HPS also announced a sales partnership for its Picea system with Germany's Energieinsel.
