Kyocera has patented a new technology that will enable touchscreen mobile devices to be equipped with highly realistic haptic feedback.

The system is named Haptivity. Its essence boils down to the impact on the receptor apparatus of the skin, namely the bodies of Vater-Pacini. Their main function is to determine the speed and intensity of the impact: it is with the help of these receptors that a person feels the strength and depth of pressure, as well as vibrations.

It is claimed that the development of Kyocera will allow you to recreate the feeling of pressing physical buttons through the touch screen. In this case, various effects are possible - touching a relatively soft or hard surface.

It is expected that in the future the Haptivity system will be implemented in various gadgets - smartphones, phablets, tablets, hybrid laptops, etc. The technology can complement the traditional feedback based on generating vibrations in response to certain user actions.
