Asus ZenPad series tablets

ASUS has introduced the ZenPad line of premium tablet computers, including the ZenPad C 7.0, ZenPad 8.0 and ZenPad S 8.0 models with optional Z Stylus, and the 10-inch ZenPad 10 with keyboard dock and optional Z Stylus.

ASUS ZenPad C 7 7.0-inch tablet with IPS screen (1024 x 600) with viewing angles up to 178 degrees runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a design with elements of ASUS corporate identity, reflecting the philosophy of Zen.

ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 is available in two versions of the processor platform. The Wi-Fi (Z170C), 3G and mobile telephony (Z170CG) versions of the tablet are based on the Intel Atom x3, while the 7.0G-enabled ZenPad C 170 (Z3MG) uses the MTK MT64V/W 8382-bit quad-core processor. The tablet is equipped with 2-megapixel and 0,3-megapixel cameras with support for ASUS PixelMaster technology, which allows you to take high-quality photos and shoot videos even in low light conditions. The high quality of the picture is ensured by the ASUS VisualMaster technology suite, which includes ASUS Tru2Life and ASUS TruVivid technologies and uses modern image processing processes. The RAM capacity is 1 GB, the amount of flash memory is 8 or 16 GB. The tablet is available in four colors: black, white, red and silver.

ASUS ZenPad 8.0 is equipped with an 8-inch IPS screen that occupies 76,5% of the entire area of ​​the front panel. The device is available in two versions: based on a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom x3 processor (ZenPad 8.0 Z380C model) or with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor (model Z380KL). The tablet has a 2-megapixel front and a 5-megapixel rear camera with support for ASUS PixelMaster technology. The Z380C has 2 GB of RAM, the Z380KL has 1 GB, and the flash memory capacity is 16 GB.

ASUS ZenPad 8.0 features rounded metal frame for a comfortable grip. ZenPad 8.0 is made in three colors: black, white and silver, may have support for Wi-Fi and 4G/LTE.

ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) premium tablet has an 8-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2048? 1536 dots (324 ppi). The device uses a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor with a frequency of up to 2,3 GHz. On board there is 4 GB of RAM, a flash drive with a capacity of 64 GB, an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a front-facing camera with a resolution of 2 megapixels. ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 supports Z stylus input with up to 1024 pressure levels, optional.

ASUS ZenPad 10 is a stylish premium 10,1" IPS tablet (1280 x 800) with LED backlight, available in three versions: LTE/Wi-Fi (Z300CL), 3G/Wi-Fi (Z300CG) and WiFi (Z300C). The Z300CL is based on the 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. The tablet also uses quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom x3-C3230 (Z300CG) and Atom x3-C3200 (Z300C) processors. The amount of RAM tablet is 2 GB, flash memory - 8, 16 or 32 GB. Depending on the model, the resolution of the rear camera is 2 or 5 megapixels, the front camera is 0,3 or 2 megapixels. Case ASUS ZenPad 10 is made in three colors: black, white and silver, the back panel is decorated with embossed leather.

ASUS ZenPad 10 comes with optional Z stylus and ASUS Audio Dock with keyboard and stereo speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology.

All novelties of the ASUS ZenPad series are running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with the proprietary ASUS Zen UI user interface.

Salads are healthier with fat sauce 07.07.2012

Fresh vegetables used to make salads contain a huge amount of vitamins and other nutrients, but you can only get them if you choose the right salad dressing.

Purdue University conducted a clinical study in which 29 volunteers ate a salad dressed with butter (as a saturated fat), canola oil (as a monounsaturated fat), and corn oil (as a polyunsaturated fat). Each of the salads was served with 3, 8 or 20 grams of dressing.

The researchers then measured the participants' blood levels of fat-soluble carotenoids, compounds found in plant foods that may reduce the risk of developing a range of chronic and degenerative diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.

It turned out that the degree of digestibility of carotenoids to a greater extent depended on the dose of corn oil, mainly consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The efficiency of carotenoid absorption also depended on the amount of saturated fat, but this pattern was less pronounced.

At the same time, when using rapeseed oil rich in monounsaturated fatty acids for salad dressing, the amount of assimilated carotenoids did not depend on the dose of oil. These results indicate that for people looking to reduce their calorie intake and at the same time want to get the most out of their vegetables, salad dressings rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, such as rapeseed and olive oils, are an ideal choice.
