Specialized tablet for schools Galaxy Tab E

26.08.2015

The B2B division of Samsung Electronics announced the start of sales for educational organizations of the new Galaxy Tab E tablet and specialized MagicIWB software for building interactive classes. The proposed solution is designed to meet the needs of teachers and school principals to ensure the educational process using electronic learning materials.

The novelty has a modern design, stylish slim case has a thickness of 8,5 mm. The weight of the tablet is 490 g. The tablet features a 16:10 aspect ratio display, making it easy to work with e-books, documents and mail. The tablet is presented in white and black colors.

Samsung recommends using the Galaxy Tab E in education with Samsung MagicIWB software. The proposed software complements the functionality of the tablet, turning it into a tool for organizing interactive classes, and allows teachers to conduct face-to-face and remote lessons, control the actions of students on the tablet, limit the list of applications launched during classes, and also make handwritten comments on the broadcast material, helping students to better and learn the material faster.

The functionality offered in the tablet allows the use of modern electronic learning materials, teachers to be "mobile", namely, to view and supplement the material for a new lesson without being tied to a stationary workplace. In turn, the device gives students the opportunity to access the electronic textbook at any time, view notes, go online and run tests, study additional materials, be always in touch with their teacher, be able to receive comments and help from him.

The material broadcast during the lesson, as well as handwritten comments and explanations, can be recorded and saved on students' tablets for later reference when preparing homework.
The features of the tablet are "Maximum Power Saving Mode", its multitasking and the presence of the Hancom office program, which allows users to view and edit MS Office files.

The Galaxy Tab E has a 5-megapixel autofocus camera that can capture HD video. Also, the device has the function of "Best photo", "Continuous shooting" (up to 20 frames) and "Panorama shooting mode". The model is equipped with a 1,3 GHz Quad Core processor, has 1,5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable permanent memory, while it is supplemented with removable microSD media with a capacity of up to 128 GB, which is enough to run, work comfortably with applications, electronic textbooks, and view multimedia content .

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

A device that decomposes sounds without the help of digital technology 31.03.2017

Hussein Esfahlani, from the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Switzerland), as part of a group of electrical engineers from Switzerland, has created a device, an acoustic prism, capable of decomposing sound into frequency components by purely physical means, without the use of digital technology.

The device is a hollow aluminum casing 40 cm long with a number of holes on the side. The inner space of the casing is divided into a number of chambers by flexible polymeric membranes. When these membranes oscillate, they transmit sound from chamber to chamber with a delay depending on its frequency. As the delayed sound waves exit the holes, they are refracted in different directions so that the lowest frequency sound (similar to red light) can be heard at the end closest to the source, and the higher frequency sound (similar to blue light) from the more distant hole. . "It's like how a drop of water or a glass prism refracts light of different colors to different angles," Esfahlani said.

It can be used to isolate significant frequencies from incoming white noise, or pinpoint the exact location of a sound source at a particular frequency. "This is a very elegant and efficient way to distinguish between audio frequencies," commented Nicholas Fang, professor of mechanical engineering at MIT, who was not involved in the work.
