It is well known that a sedentary lifestyle is not conducive to good health, and scientists are adding more and more details to the bleak picture.

Researchers from the Universities of Zaragoza and São Paulo, led by Augusto Cesar de Moraes, looked at children aged 2-10. For two years, they monitored the health of 5500 babies from eight EU countries (AlphaGalileo, February 25, 2015). And summing up, they were horrified: 110 out of a thousand had high blood pressure, which in the future could lead to serious cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary heart disease.

Where is the main evil? Right in front of your eyes: The risk of developing high blood pressure increases by 30% when a child spends more than two hours in front of a screen a day. And it doesn’t matter if you are in front of the screen of something - a TV, a computer or a game console. And if the child is also engaged in physical exercises for less than an hour a day, then the risk increases by 50%.

The recommendations are banal: spend no more than two hours near the screen, and spend the saved time, if not on sports, then at least on foot. Why no one listens to such simple advice - this question remained outside the scope of the study.
