Household series of circuit breakers 5SL from SIEMENS

03.04.2015

5S series circuit breakers protect electrical networks from overheating and short circuits. Thanks to a wide range of characteristics A, B, C, D, switches can be used in a wide segment of construction and industrial facilities. The design of the terminals protects a person from accidentally touching them. The devices are mounted on a DIN rail and can be connected to each other with a special rail, which facilitates installation. A wide range of accessories allows the use of the 5S series in control systems of any complexity. The switches can operate in networks with voltage ranges: 24...220 V DC and 24...400 V AC.

The 5SL series circuit breakers are an innovative development from Siemens that is ideal for domestic use in standard installations, thanks to the operation of the most common tripping curves - B and C, a breaking capacity of 6 kA and operation with rated currents of 0,3 ... 63 A Circuit breakers can be projected as a main switch, although they are most often used to protect end users - lighting fixtures, sockets, electric stoves and other household appliances.

Commissioners and service personnel are protected from touching the conductive parts of the devices, thanks to the closed terminals, which provide a degree of protection that significantly exceeds the requirements of DIN EN 50274. The terminals have a rectangular cross-section for convenient connection of wires of different cross-sections from 0,75 to 35 mm2 .

The 5SL switches and control knob have a beautiful and ergonomic appearance. The condition is visually controlled by the inscriptions and color markings on the control knob. When using a connecting rail, the space in front of the device remains open and free, which makes it possible to fully control the further connection of the wires. The special design of the latch allows you to remove the circuit breaker and its additional contacts - status (5ST3-010) and operation (5ST3-020) from the DIN rail without using a screwdriver or other tool.

A handle lock module and a compact padlock can be used to prevent unauthorized access and dismantling.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Nanosilicon in the fight against infections 08.07.2012

Scientists at Brown University have found that a coating of silicon nanoparticles can effectively combat the spread of staphylococcus bacteria. This discovery will allow the creation of low-cost coatings for medical equipment, implants, hospital equipment and household appliances. This is essential to fight infections - especially antibiotic-resistant superstrains of bacteria that often even cause hospitals to be demolished.

Silicon is an inexpensive common substance that is present in our body. It has long been known that it is able to fight bacteria, but so far it has not been possible to create a silicon coating.

Scientists at Brown University have used silicon nanoparticles for the first time to coat a polycarbonate catheter and endotracheal tube. As a result, the number of staphylococcus bacteria on these medical supplies has been reduced by 90%.

The main task in creating an antibacterial coating is to prevent the formation of a biofilm that unites a colony of bacteria and makes it very resistant to environmental influences. The silicon coating prevents biofilm formation and makes it easier for the patient's immune system to clean the implant. At the same time, silicon is much cheaper than silver and does not harm human immunity.

Scientists have grown silicon nanoparticles of two different sizes and made four types of coating with different concentrations of both types of particles. All types of coatings have proven effective and reduced the number of staph in 24, 48 and 72 hours. The coating with the smallest particles had the most powerful effect: after a day, the number of bacteria was reduced by 90%. In the near future, scientists plan to start testing implants with a new coating on animals.
