superMHL/HDMI 2.0 port processor

Silicon Image announced the release of the world's first superMHL/HDMI 2.0 "port processor". The novelty received the designation SiI9779.

The SiI9779 supports superMHL, the latest specification from the industry organization MHL Consortium, which delivers 8K video at 60 fps. The SiI9779 configuration includes one superMHL input, three HDMI 2.0 inputs, and one superMHL output. The processor supports High Dynamic Range (HDR), Deep Color and BT.2020, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X audio data transmission, and can even work in audio-only mode.

Manufacturers are expected to use the SiI9779 in a new generation of electronic devices capable of serving as 8K video sources and connecting to display devices using the superMHL interface. In addition, superMHL enables MHL-enabled devices to output over existing (such as USB Type-C with MHL Alt Mode support) and future 4K video connections at up to 60 fps.

The SiI9779's three HDMI 2.0 inputs allow you to connect multiple sources at the same time, including Blu-ray Disc players and video recorders.

Overeating grandparents may be ruining the health of their grandchildren. In any case, this is the conclusion of a study conducted by Swedish scientists.

Gunnar Kaati and his collaborators collected the medical histories of 300 Swedes born between 1890 and 1920 and compared these data with information about the harvest collected in the country during their childhood (from this information one can judge how they ate in childhood).
