RAM smartphones reached 4 GB

Asustek has announced the world's first 4GB RAM smartphone, the Zenfone 2, and the world's thinnest 3x zoom smartphone, the Zenfone Zoom.

The Zenfone 2 features a 5,5-inch Full HD display like the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, but is nearly 6mm shorter. The width of the smartphones are the same, but the thickness of the iPhone is almost 4 mm less. In addition to the outstanding amount of RAM, the Zenfone 2 hardware has another feature - a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 x86 processor. It has 4 cores and runs at 2,3GHz. All together, Asustek assures, it provides up to 7 times faster gaming performance (compared to the first Zenfone), smooth video playback and instant switching between running applications.

The device has a 13-megapixel PixelMaster camera with an f/2.0 aperture and is equipped with a Real Tone Flash for enhanced skin tones. The resolution of the front camera is 5 MP.
The amount of internal memory is 16, 32 or 64 GB, depending on the option. The device has two slots for SIM-cards, supports LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, has a slot for memory cards. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh.

The Zenfone 2 software platform is Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus ZenUI proprietary shell installed on top. It includes a multi-window application launcher, built-in antivirus and instant updates. Additionally, a modification of Zenfone 2 with 2 GB of RAM will be available.

Zenfone Zoom is a camera phone with a 13MP sensor, laser autofocus, a 3x optical zoom lens and optical stabilization. The thickness of the smartphone is 11,95 mm. The display here is the same as in Zenfone 2 - with a diagonal of 5,5 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Built-in memory capacity, depending on the option, can be up to 128 GB. Battery capacity - 3000 mAh. The model also supports the simultaneous use of two SIM-cards.

Asus Zenfone 2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage will cost $199 (will be available in gold, gray, red and black colors).
