Samsung Exynos ModAP processor with LTE modem

Samsung has introduced the Exynos ModAP processor, its first mobile chip with an integrated modem for fourth-generation LTE cellular networks.

The chip is manufactured using 28nm technology and HKMG technique, which is based on the use of high-k dielectrics and metal gate transistors. The manufacturer does not specify either the clock frequency or the cache size.

It is known that the product is equipped with a Cat.4 LTE module with support for data transfer rates up to 150 Mbps. Of course, it is possible to work in mobile networks of the second (2G) and third (3G) generations.

Exynos ModAP includes a signal processor that can process images with a total number of pixels up to 8 million (4K format) at 30 frames per second. The declared bandwidth of the memory subsystem reaches 6,4 GB / s. In addition, it is said about high energy efficiency.

The process of thawing permafrost releases carbon from the soil into the atmosphere, which can adversely affect climate change on the planet, a team of scientists from the Netherlands and the UK found out.

Scientists analyzed the content of the substance in the waters of the northwestern part of Canada in the summer, when the permafrost thaws. Despite the fact that such studies require further work and analysis, scientists emphasize that the data obtained are quite alarming and indicate the negative impact of such processes on the rate of global warming.
