Innovative Iris Identification Scanner

BioLink Solutions announced the release of a new scanner that implements innovative iris identification technology - BioLink i-Match 2.0.

As stated in a statement by BioLink Solutions, received by the editors of CNews, recognition by the iris is automatic: quickly, remotely and non-contact. The user just needs to look at the scanner, and he will find the identifier, create an image of the iris and automatically evaluate its quality. The image is converted into a digital model. The internal memory of the scanner can store up to 1000 of these models. The processing of iris images is carried out by the scanner itself, without the involvement of computer resources.

The scanner is equipped with a built-in camera operating in the infrared range, which solves two problems at once: there are no problems associated with exposure to the pupil of visible light; the scanner reacts only to a "live" iris, and it is useless to present photographs, dummies and other fakes to it, BioLink Solutions said.

According to company representatives, the new scanner can be used in conjunction with the biometric identification system for users of corporate networks and BioLink IDenium applications. This system provides differentiation of access to information resources, is used in banks and other credit institutions, companies in the fuel and energy sector, industrial enterprises and other industries.

Thus, with the release of the new scanner, users of this biometric system have received a greater choice of possible identification scenarios: iris recognition will expand the possibilities of identification by fingerprints (using optical scanners of the BioLink U-Match series), smart cards, passwords and their various combinations .
