POS-terminal with biometric identification

Fujitsu and PulseWallet have developed an innovative POS terminal that uses biometric technology to provide users with maximum security. The main innovation of the terminal was the PalmSecure biometric identification technology. After going through the registration process, users can make payments without plastic cards - they only need to touch the terminal with their palm.

Fujitsu's biometric palm scanners use near-infrared light to scan the entirety of the user's palm and create a unique biometric template. The terminal then compares this template with the snapshot provided during registration and decides whether the user can be granted access. The service is completely sterile, since users do not need to touch the terminal - just raise their palm.

PulseWallet terminals also offer other innovative services, such as storing the transaction history of each individual user and special offers in the user's virtual profile. "From the very beginning, we have been looking for an ultra-secure and accurate biometric authentication technology to integrate with our solution. User registration must be seamless for all customers, and POS verification must be fast," said Aimann Rasheed, CEO of PulseWallet. .

Biometric technologies are certainly of interest to banks, the likelihood of their use in the near future is quite high, Valentina Kuzmina, director of the department of payment cards at Promsvyazbank, is sure. "The question of how quickly they will find a working implementation is still open. However, venture projects using biometric identification are already appearing on the market," the expert emphasizes.
