takeMS has expanded its product range with UTX-2200 series solid state drives. These 2,5-inch devices are based on SandForce SF-2281 controllers and MLC NAND flash memory.

The advantages of takeMS UTX-2200 drives include SATA 6 Gb / s interface and TRIM support, as well as high performance. According to the company, the UTX-2200 is up to 550MB/s read and 500MB/s write. The maximum performance is declared equal to 70000 IOPS. The series is formed by models with a capacity of 60, 120, 240 and 480 GB.

The manufacturer provides a two-year warranty for takeMS UTX-2200 drives. The package includes an adapter that allows you to install the SSD in a 3,5-inch bay.

About ten percent of humanity is allergic to cats. Canadian McMaster University is preparing a vaccine that should eliminate this painful reaction.

Immunologist Mark Larke isolated a cat protein that causes allergies and found out exactly which parts of its amino acid chain are most active. It turned out to be seven peptides that were synthesized. The vaccine of them has been tested on 88 patients. Its single introduction weakened inflammatory reactions by 40%.

Existing treatments for this type of allergy take several years. There are trials on a larger contingent, and after them they intend to produce a vaccine in England.
