Chimpanzees, in order to get tasty termites from the termite mound, stick a stick into the termite mound. Insects feeding on wood cling to a stick, after which the monkey licks its fishing gear.

Chimpanzees from the Nuabale-Ndoki National Park in the Congo have perfected this method. They found a species of trees that have a sticky sap under the bark, they remove the bark from a branch of this tree with their teeth and stick it into the termite mound. Termites stick, and catches immediately grow.

Scientists from Georgetown University (USA) have found a link between tinnitus and chronic pain in other parts of the body.

Ringing in the ears, which scientists call tinnitus, is a symptom caused by various causes, such as inflammation in the ear, atherosclerosis of the cerebral vessels, as well as a natural hearing loss or even a side effect of medication.

Tinnitus is a subjective sensation that is difficult to measure using objective methods, while tinnitus is quite common: in the age group from 55 to 65 years, up to 20% of respondents regularly notice its symptoms.

Now American scientists have found that tinnitus and chronic pain are caused by damage in the same area of the brain. Studies have shown that both of these symptoms are caused by problems with the ventromedial prefrontal cortex and the nucleus accumbens.

These areas of the brain are responsible for the occurrence of chronic pain in various parts of the body, for which the body has no objective reasons.

Now the researchers intend to figure out which areas are responsible for the occurrence of such phenomena and, as a result, develop ways to combat chronic tinnitus and phantom pain.
