NexFET with double-sided cooling

31.01.2010

Texas Instruments announced the release of the industry's first family of standard-mount, high-power MOSFETs that dissipate heat through both the bottom and top of the package for high-current DC/DC applications.

This design allows power system designers to efficiently remove heat from printed circuit boards in high voltage DC or AC applications. This makes it possible not only to increase the density of power supplies, but also to expand the range of supported current loads and increase the reliability of systems.

The improved package technology reduces the thermal impedance towards the top of the package from 10 to 15°C per 1W to 1,2°C/W, resulting in an increase in heat dissipation capacity of up to 80%.

Efficient two-way heat dissipation allows up to 50% more current through the transistor, giving designers the flexibility to use higher current processors without increasing the size of the final hardware. The industry-standard 5x6mm SON package simplifies design and reduces cost, saving 30mm2 of floor space compared to using two standard packages.

The DualCool NexFET family includes five positions: CSD16325Q5C, CSD16322Q5C, CSD16321Q5C, CSD16407Q5C, CSD16408Q5C.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Acer to release 27-inch IPS panel monitor 07.10.2012

Acer has announced the launch of the S275HL monitor in the European market, based on a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The novelty will go on sale in November and will be offered at a price of 329 euros.

The asymmetric design of the Acer S275HL with the leg of the stand shifted to the right looks unusual, but such a design cannot be called new: Samsung 3 series 950D monitors, released back in March 2011, can boast of a similar exterior. At the same time, a very thin body of the device is noted, the thickness of which is 15 mm.

The characteristics of the LCD monitor panel are as follows: brightness - 260 cd/m100, dynamic contrast ratio - 000:000, pixel response time - 1 ms. The claimed power consumption of the monitor in standby mode is 6 watts, and in operation mode it is 0,5 watts.

Acer gave the S275HL two HDMI ports and one D-Sub, as well as two speakers with a total output of 3W.
