Nocturnal lifestyle can trigger diabetes

Scientists have discovered a potential link between late lifestyle and an increased risk of developing diabetes. This discovery highlights the importance of being aware of your dreams, as quiet nights can bring unexpected dangers to our body.

The conclusions of experts indicate the importance of consciously choosing the time of sleep and its impact on overall health. A personalized approach to sleep recommendations can significantly reduce the risk of developing diabetes and improve quality of life.

For the scientific work, data on 63 female nurses was used: carefully analyzed in relation to their sleep, lifestyle and health status. The study found that night owls who prefer to be active at late hours faced a 000% increased risk of diabetes, even after controlling for lifestyle factors. Surprisingly, the increased risk was observed only among nurses who worked day shifts, highlighting the impact of jet lag on health.

The purpose of the study is not only to identify the link between sleep and diabetes, but also to highlight lifestyle factors that influence this link. Scientists have found that late sleepers are more likely to lead a less healthy lifestyle in general: drinking more alcohol, eating less rationally, smoking, sleeping less and doing little physical activity.

These results not only call sleep habits into question, but also highlight the importance of personalized medical advice that takes into account individual sleep preferences. This could be the key to reducing the risks associated with late-life lifestyle and preventing the development of diabetes and other related diseases.

An international team of scientists spent six years designing an unusual greenhouse complex Sundrop Farm, which unfolded right in the South Australian desert. Water is supplied here directly from the sea, and its own solar power plant allows you to deal with sudden temperature changes.

First, the design of an experimental greenhouse built in 2010 was developed. Then, in 2014, the construction of the remaining systems began, and finally the facility began its work.

Water is supplied to the facility, located in the arid Port Augusta, through pipes directly from Spencer Bay. The purification system removes the salt, producing enough water every day to irrigate about 180 tomato plants. The special design of the greenhouses allows you to maintain the optimum temperature both in the heat of summer and in the cool winter months.

Instead of soil, sawdust from coconuts is used here. Sea water purifies and sterilizes the air, eliminating the need for pesticides.

The farm's own solar power plant, consisting of a total of 23 mirrors, is capable of producing up to 39 megawatts of energy per day. This is enough to power the desalination plant and the heating system.

The project cost the owners $200 million, but they are confident that the costs will pay off in the long run. Moreover, they plan to launch similar farms in the US and Portugal.

Organic desert-grown tomatoes are already sold in supermarkets in Australia.
