Growing tomatoes in air-conditioned greenhouses

Emirati tomato growers are gearing up for the start of summer when they will be able to grow tomatoes in challenging conditions and temperatures as high as 45°C thanks to air-conditioned greenhouses.

Ali Aljararva, CEO of Ghalya Farm, told about this.

“When temperatures rise to 40-45°C in summer, no crop survives in such conditions, and all Emirati growers use greenhouses with air conditioning and cool air currents during the day,” Ali Aljararwa notes.

According to the grower, the maintenance of these greenhouses is inexpensive in terms of energy, but involves the use of large amounts of water: "The cost of energy is not very high, which allows us to continue to produce tomatoes at competitive prices, and the impact on the environment is negligible."

Ali Aljararwa stated that the quality of vegetables is also very similar to those produced in the open field. Now he has 10 hectares covered with greenhouses, and plans to increase this to 20 hectares in the coming seasons.

All local tomato production is absorbed by the local market: in supermarkets and farmers' markets, as well as through direct sales from the farm to the final consumer. Although the cost of production rises in the summer, manufacturers are counting on the tendency of consumers to give preference to the national product.

Radeon RX 6900 XT NITRO+ graphics card 16.12.2020

Sapphire has introduced the flagship graphics accelerator Radeon RX 6900 XT in a proprietary version of NITRO +. Previously, the manufacturer showed the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 models in the same version.

Due to its huge cooling system, the Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT NITRO+ requires three free expansion slots inside the computer case. The length of the video card is 310 mm.

The presented version of the Radeon RX 6900 XT received a slight factory overclocking of the GPU.

For gaming and boost modes, the manufacturer claims frequencies of 2050 and 2285 MHz, respectively, which is 1,6% higher than the reference values ​​announced by AMD for this model. The card received a dual BIOS system with quiet and productive modes.

For additional power, the card is equipped with 8-pin connectors, which is rather curious, since most of the non-reference Radeon RX 6900 XT variants presented so far are equipped with three of these connectors. On the other hand, the PCI Express 4.0 interface and two 8-pin connectors are capable of transferring up to 375W, which should be enough for the Radeon RX 6900 XT NITRO+ even with a little headroom. For this option, the company claims a maximum power consumption of 340 watts. The manufacturer recommends using an 850W power supply for it.

The video card is equipped with a non-standard set of interfaces: three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI. Whether the manufacturer plans to release a version of the Radeon RX 6900 XT NITRO + SE, as was the case with the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 models, is still unknown. The NITRO + SE variant is distinguished by ARGB illumination of the cooling fans and the presence of a USB Type-C connector.
