Convertible electric car Audi Activesphere

Audi has unveiled the Activesphere electric vehicle concept. It's a crossover built for off-road, complete with a solid underbody and variable suspension. The base ground clearance is 208 mm, which can be adjusted up or down by 40 mm depending on the type of road (or off-road).

The car received 22-inch wheels, a spacious luggage compartment (with a folding platform for easy loading), where there is enough space, for example, for electric bicycles. However, it has a hatchback profile and should provide comfort to the driver and passengers.

The cabin reflects Audi's confidence in augmented reality. It is assumed that the driver and passengers will wear augmented reality glasses. They will be able to transmit important vehicle performance indicators (for the driver), as well as controls for the infotainment system and virtual assistant.

The Audi Activesphere does not have the usual range of instrument panels, screens, and controls. The car is focused on autonomous driving. But when the driver wants to take control, the dashboard and steering wheel will rise to their proper place.

Since this is still just a concept, the main characteristics are not yet available. However, Audi claims a range of over 600 km and 270kW fast charging using the 800V architecture. According to Audi, the 100kWh battery pack can be charged from 5% to 80% in just 25 minutes. In 10 minutes, you can replenish the charge for 300 km of run.

As with past experiments, Activesphere is not a pre-production model. Rather, it is a vision of Audi vehicles in the near future, as well as a demonstration of the brand's technical capabilities.

The world's largest battery 05.01.2012

BYD, commissioned by the State Power Corporation of China (SGCC), has built what is arguably the largest battery in the world. The battery has a capacity of 36 MWh and is the size of a football field.

The giant storage facility was created to store energy from a complex of wind and solar power plants in northern China in Zhangbei County. The peak power of the complex is 140 MW, and the use of such a storage device, according to the creators, increases the efficiency of using renewable energy sources by 5-10%.

The battery is assembled from iron-phosphate cells, the choice of which is due to the long service life (20 years), relative cheapness and high peak energy efficiency. Iron phosphate batteries operate at temperatures up to 60°C and provide storage efficiency in the region of 95%.

The cost of the complex of wind (100 MW) and solar (40 MW) stations with a battery is $500 million. This is the first project of the Golden Sun national program for the use of environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources.
