Samsung 12nm dynamic RAM

Samsung Electronics has announced the development of its 16 GB dynamic RAM using the field's first 12nm technology.

With mass production due to begin in 2023, the company said its new RAM will enhance next-generation computing, data centers and AI applications with best-in-class performance and greater energy efficiency.

"With exceptional performance and energy efficiency, we expect our new DRAM to serve as the foundation for more resilient operations in areas such as next-generation computing, data centers, and AI-driven systems" - Zhuyong Li, Executive Vice President, DRAM Product

In addition, when combined with advanced multi-layer ultraviolet (EUV) lithography, the new DRAM has the industry's highest matrix density, allowing for a 20 percent increase in wafer throughput.

The company claims that the new 12nm-class DRAM will help unlock speeds of up to 7,2Gbps, which will help it process two 30GB UHD movies in just one second.

"We are excited to partner with Samsung once again, specifically to introduce DDR5 memory products that are optimized and validated on the 'Zen' platforms," ​​Joe Macri, Senior Vice President, Corporate Officer and CTO of AMD Computing and Graphics, said in a statement.

Consuming 23 percent less power than previous DRAM, 12nm class DRAM will be the ideal solution for global IT companies seeking greener operations.

Psychological preparation of parents will help their children 20.02.2013

A XNUMX-year study has proven that parenting training will be the key to preventing emotional disorders in children. The results of one of the oldest studies in the field of preventing childhood depression have been summed up. Scientists have evaluated the long-term effects of early intervention to prevent neurological disorders in children.

The study was led by Dr. Ron Rapey, director of the Center for Mental Health at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). He made a report on the program of psychological prevention among parents of preschool children. The results showed that, in general, children whose parents participated in the prevention program were less prone to such nervous disorders as anxiety and depression.

"Most of the preventive programs aimed at developing the psychology of school-age children are implemented at school. However, our studies have shown that it is necessary to work with parents and do this before the child first begins to show signs of anxiety. Only such work can give a good result," says Dr. Rapey. The study provides convincing evidence of the correctness of the scientist's opinion. "Over the past 10 years, the number of preventive programs aimed at preventing anxiety in children has increased significantly. Given the low cost of such interventions and their excellent results, it can be argued that they are quite promising," sums up Dr. Reypi.
