Strength training reduces the risk of death

Regular exercise that strengthens muscles reduces the risk of death from certain diseases, said Japanese scientists from the universities of Tohoku and Kyushu.

Muscle-strengthening exercises include weight lifting, push-ups, sit-ups, resistance band work, and even gardening. Experts analyzed 16 studies conducted in the United States, England, Scotland, Australia and Japan, which involved from 4 to 480 thousand people of different ages.

All studies have examined the effects of aerobic and strength exercise on the human body.

They found that 30-60 minutes of weekly exercise was associated with a 10-20 percent lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and lung disease. The scientists noted that the results may not be completely accurate because the studies they studied were observational, not clinical, and were based on a subjective assessment of muscle strengthening activities.

Single-chip systems Qualcomm IPQ8074 and QCA6290 17.02.2017

Qualcomm introduced IPQ8074 and QCA6290 single-chip systems supporting Wi-Fi 802.11ax. The first is designed to serve as the basis for wireless network equipment, and the second is designed for client devices. According to the manufacturer, he is the first to offer such a kit.

Adopting 802.11ax can quadruple the capacity of Wi-Fi networks while extending the battery life of mobile devices. The microcircuit is designed for release according to the standards of 14 nm.

In turn, the QCA6290 supports 2x2 MU-MIMO and a peak speed of 1,8 Gb / s, which is achieved through the DBS (Dual Band Simultaneous) mechanism, which allows combining channels in the 2,4 and 5 GHz bands, and high-order modulation (1024 QAM). Another advantage is proprietary power optimization that complements the built-in 802.11ax power saving technologies.
