Invisible system to protect bicycles from theft

Students from Dnipro, Ukraine have created a device that prevents bike theft. With it, two-wheelers can track the whereabouts of the bike and attempts to steal it.

Six students from Dnipro National University have developed an invisible WheelKeep system that protects bicycles from theft. It consists of a special module that is inserted into the steering column of the vehicle and a mobile application. When someone tries to take a bike without the owner's permission, a special push notification will be sent to the cyclist's mobile phone. Also in the application, you can track the location of the two-wheeled vehicle.

In November, young developers won a grant Ukrainian Startup Fund - They placed second among 13 teams on USF Pitch Day 33.

Fourth-year students of the Faculty of Physics, Electronics and Computer Systems Pavel German and Oleksandr Yatsenko, Faculty of Applied Mathematics Roman Kvirikadze and Andrey Dergach, Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Art History Ilya Volkov, Faculty of Physics and Technology Yegor Lyapin are working on the project.

A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. The freed up space can be used either to reduce the size of devices, or to increase its capabilities by adding new functions.

The new chip has not yet been released in silicon. Only its digital design is ready.

Now the company is engaged in the production of photomasks to launch the solution in mass production.
